“Great value.”

We were directed here by a fellow traveller and weren't disappointed. Great value for the air con triple. Cheapest place we stayed in Asia. Our room had a gigantic balcony which was a bonus. Propaganda speaker near the hotel can get a bit annoying though. Reception was fantastic and perfect English.

A group of fellow travellers and I arrived and took a four person room and a double room as there weren't enough dorm spaces left. The four person room worked out to 30,000 kip per person per night (fan only), the double room 35,000 kip.

The room itself was quite big, with a vanity, bench and quite a few coat hooks. The bathroom is also large, but the shower head was placed on the wall close to the door, meaning everything in the bathroom gets soaked when you shower. The drain is located behind the toilet, so the bathroom always had a dirty vibe to it, as you're continually stepping in shower water.

Towels were provided, but all of them had concerning stains. We decided to use our own towels.

Close to lots of restaurants, tubing, etc which is nice, keep in mind it's slightly noisier so being ear plugs or headphones.

Free internet, free Nescafe+tea, hot and cold drinking water, and frequently bananas available in reception area;
Family TV+eating area in same large room with reception--younger son YELLS to talk, get attention--can be tiresome!
Bookings avail, tho check Bus, MiniVan fees against those offered on the street.
I was first shown a normal dble rm-- which smelled of mould, for 50K KIP; then shown a triple room for 70K KIP -- balcony, fan, en suite bthrm w hot water, shower; the room was clean, with the normal high ceilings + exhaust fan, which def helped keep a cool temp. Surprisingly, this was the most comfortable bed and the BEST night's sleep in several weeks!
Internet ONLY @ stair landings (router location) or in reception area: the very thick walls may have been blocking the signal..?
The owners are friendly, helpful. I was offered a piece of BirthDay cake. When I asked where to get watermelon, she offered to ride me on her motorbike--I had been limping some due to a hurting hip.At check-out, the wife-owner at first said they didn't accept Cr Crds; Booking.com website said YES; she slowly did admit she was unfamiliar w CrCrd mach and her husband was gone; she let me swipe my card and enter the info: a friendly solution.
Many food vendors and restaurants available nearby.

Room Tip: For a quiet room, stay on the side opposite Central Backpackers, tho their restaurant closes at 10 p...

we arrived in Laos after almost 24hours of travelling and were relieved to find what looked like a lovely little guesthouse. We went inside and were greeted with smiles and welcomes, got two rooms and got settled, went out and left our keys at the desk, it's an amazing location, as most guesthouses are in vang vieng, and came back some time around 1 the 'guard' was sleeping and had left our keys out on the table so was a bit annoyed that anyone could have come along and picked them up. The next day we smiled warmly and asked where we could get some traditional Laos food which was met with blank stares and unhelpfulness, quite a change from befores attitude.
The next day we left our key at reception and asked for our room to be cleaned, when we came back they had made the bed and folded up our towels, the bathroom hasn't even been touched and the bin not emptied, this was disappointing and had to ask again the next day, this time housekeeping didnt happen at all so we gave up asking.
I'm sure there are worse places but I probably wouldn't come back I prefer places that smile and make you feel welcome during your whole stay.

More or less nice and clean guesthouse. Comfortable rooms. Nice and helpful owner and staff. I will come back. If you ask, your room will be cleaned. Rooms are equipped with TV and/or Aircondition. Located right in th heart of Vang Vieng but still quiet. I stayed there for nearly two weeks and felt very comfortable.

I stayed with my friend at Sisavang Guesthouse for 2 nights. The location is great and it is definitely cheap, but we were happy when we left the place again. Although the rooms were clean, everything was old and filthy. That's why we did not really feel comfortable. I would have paid a few dollars more, If I hadn't had such an old mattress and run-down bathroom. Also the staff could have been more friendly.

Not sure what all the 5-star rave reviews are about. Sisavang is a perfectly average guesthouse in a town full of them. The room was a bit run down and the wifi was not always reliable (which is the case just about everywhere in Laos), but it was generally clean and I had no problems here - and I think there are worse options in town.
