Jammee Guest House

We really enjoyed our stay at Jammee guesthouse. The guesthouse is located just outside of the city center, an easy 10 minute walk from town. It is also an easy 10 minute walk away from one of the caves to go see.

Our room on the upper floor (with great balcony!) was basic but light, spacious and clean. We were provided with a mosquito net and a top sheet and blanket. The bed was somewhat on the springy side. The bathroom was a typical SE Asia type - no separation between toilet and shower. As mentioned in previous reviews the breakfast was simple but tasty and the seating area was lovely. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor.

Great clean rom for a great price. Jamee's is a familynrun guest house and Seum the owner (Jammee isnhisnson) is super security conscious. If your arriving by bus from Vientiane the bus stops at the station - seems like the middle of nowhere. It is then a free tuk tuk ride to town, conveniently to a guesthouse. Seum will probably be outside the guesthouse on the road and will take you to his guesthouse and if you don't like it for some reason, he will take you back to the main centre of town. He is a very nice and friendly man. Town can be very noisy when the partygoers wind up at all hours of the night. Jammee's is on the edge of town and if Jammee is around he will offer you a trip to town anytime (within reason) although it's only a 10 min walk. It has a lovely rural feel and a short walk to a cave and a place to swim. Good breakfast included and free tea and coffee 24/7. Your room won't be cleaned daily however if there is anything you need I'm sure all you have to do is ask. Seum made us a packed lunch for the bus trip to Laung Prabang also.

The location is good. Away from the noicy centre with a great view on the mountains, beautifull sunsets and very close to the caves in its pretty surroundings south of town. We stayed in a AC-bugalow. Also very good. We enjoyed the nice laissez-faire atmosphere in the hotel. The staff - especially the Australian gentleman - were friendly and helpfull when necessary. The breakfast was more then standard and the informal dining aea pleasant. And altogether for an incredible reasonable price. The place to be for the middle-aged backpalkker (and others). We can recommend this to anyone.

We initially were only going to stay a few days but extended this to 11 nights particularly as we felt so at home at Jammees.

The guesthouse is located on the edge of town with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It is around ten - fifteen minutes walk into the town centre.

We had a nice large and airy first floor room with a balcony which was basic but very clean. It had superb views of the surrounding mountains. The bed was large and comfortable. There was no fridge or TV, however we could help ourselves throughout the day to complimentary water, tea and coffee plus free bananas. We could also use the communal fridge if we needed. Beer was cheap at 10,000 kp.

Breakfast is served between 7 am - 11 am in a slightly rustic dining area with Jacuzzi, again with great views. Breakfasts were good. You had a choice of eggs cooked freshly to order, accompanied by a warm baguette and salad, there were also pancakes and cereals available. Nearly every day I chose the lovely fresh fruit salad with a sprinkling of muesli and yoghurt. It was very tasty and filling.

There are lockers available for people to use and also CCTV cameras which provided added security.

Som, the owner and Lyle (Australian guy) were very welcoming, helpful and informative at all times. They clearly work hard at making this lovely guesthouse a success

Room Tip: We liked the first floor rooms the best and stayed in No. 08

What a good find in Vang Vieng! The rooms are clean and large with decent views, with breakfast included in the room price. Also, the breakfast was served up to 11.30am (i think) which was good if you wanted a few more hours sleep. Free tea and coffee 24/7.

We stayed longer in VV only because we could relax in the big open area if we didn't want to walk into town.

All the staff are really helpful and friendly. It is a little walk into the main tourist area, but that isn't a negative given the peacefulness of the guesthouse.

Thank you for a great stay :)

The center of Vang Vieng can be busy and dirty, filled with people who went tubing all day and are now watching old episodes of Friends and Family Guy. Jammee Guesthouse is far enough out of the city to enjoy the beauty of Laos and then walk into the city to participate in Vang Vieng fun.
The staff here are all very friendly. The breakfast was big and delicious every morning. The rooms are large, but simple. They have the option for air con and hot water, all at a great value for the price! I would return to Jammee and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are pretty standard with balconies - enjoy!

Jammee's is a great guesthouse. The location, a little walk out of town, makes that it is very quiet. The views from the rooms are great.
Furthermore, rooms are big, beds comfortable and breakfast good (although a bit slow at times).
The owner of the guesthouse is very friendly and helpfull.
