“Nice view of the river if you go for AC room with balcony”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2012

There was really noting good about this hotel except from the river view. We stayed in one of the more expensive rooms with aircon and balcony. The outdoor furniture was broken and we had only one chair. The room was so filthy I don't think it had a real cleaning in the last couple of months. We tried to get cleaning done but that was not possible, we could hardly get new toilet paper each day. The staff speaks no or very poor english. If you choose to have breakfast included you will have to walk to the restaurant of another hotel crossing a bridge over the river. Breakfast was okay. If you're in Vang Vieng only for partying and having little preferences about standards of accommodation you could stay in one of the cheap rooms and will find many like-minded in this place. If not, you probably be better of somewhere else.

We paid 80,000 kip for an en-suite room, with TV, WIFI and aircon. It was not that bad but, the bed was rock solid, the bathroom was tiny, and the windows didn't shut properly.

On the first night, I awoke to find a huge cockroach in my bed! Yahoo!

On the plus side, you can padlock your door, the shower worked great, it is close to everything, quiet at night and cheap.

I wouldn't stay here again, but it's ok if you are coming to tube or even just passing through!

This guess house was very well located but was hidden from the street. Yes this guess house/bungalows was surrounded by bars but it wasn't that hard to get to sleep. For the price and location it was great. hover ever the way the clean the rooms here is to spray everything with a hose (bathroom). So it was very slippery on the first day. The room was basic had a TV, Air Con but no fridge.

Can't really ask for more with this kind of prices. Basic room with fan and aircond, average bed and bathroom, spotted a cockroach running across the room (but it doesn't bother us much as long as it doesn't get to our bed and backpacks). Superb Nam Song view, if you do tubing, the tubing journey ends here. Loud music at night as it has a few happening bars just a few meters away from the riverhill bungalows. No wifi connection (but it claims to provide free wifi), the padlock key to our bungalow fits other rooms' padlock as well cus we accidentally went to the wrong unit and able to unlock the padlock, but you can always lock the door knob as 'back up'.

With this kind of prices, if you are not a fussy person, generally it is comfortable for 1 or 2 night stay.

I stayed in Vang vieng for 3 nights, as was tubing for 2 days.
I picked this place as the mini bus droped us in the middle of the main square. It was the 1st one i stopped at as I was in desperate need of a shower.
Room 5 was mine - 40,000 kip per night (160 bt - 3 GBP), it was basic but did the job.
There was ants in the bathroom but they soon drowned once the hot shower was on.

Dead cheap and did the trick asnd it central to everything !!

The place does not look bad at the beginning, it is located in front of the river with a nice view and close to downtown However, it is quite dirty (several ants, cockroaches and spiders in the bathroom (plus spider webs all over). Also is just by the side of several of the bars, so at night, it is VERY hard to sleep due to the noise of music and vibration in the room (party goes on every night in this town). would not recommend it.
