I was part of a group of 9 that stayed for a week here in March 2014. I really can't think of any negatives for this hotel, especially when you consider you're in a 3rd world country. The room was clean, roomy, and quite comfortable. Nice mosquito netted king bed, TV, desk, screened patio door to the deck that overlooks the brand new pool. My room had the strangest little bathtub/shower, and though I never bothered to wait for warm water to arrive, the others did tell me it eventually turned up.

The pool is a great feature, huge, deep and beautifully clean water - not quite what you'd expect in Masaka, and was a great way to finish a hot and dusty day.

We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner each day,and found the food plentiful and they had a good variety of dishes, from fish, chicken, spaghetti dishes, to Indian to local cuisine & everything in between. The slow service was made up for by the friendliest staff you could wish for.

All in all a very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: They have a newer wing that is a little more upscale and only about $5/night more. They don't ta...

There are those times when you just need a place to stay. Hotel Brovad is fine if that is the case. Masaka is a good stop over and this place is as good as I saw along the road. As long as your expectations are reasonable this place will do. It is very safe, the food is good but not great and the service is a little slow. The rooms are dated but our bedspread had a great pink heart as the theme.

Room Tip: All the rooms are about the same - comfortable and clean with a few 'wear' spots

Was on a business trip to Masaka.
For lunch i have been there.
The ambience was good.
There was a UN. Sponsored meeting going on.
Still the other guests were treated at par.
The owneress and her son walk around and talk to every table , for their comments.
The staff are too courteous.
The food is good.
I could get a good vegetarian food with rice., veg gravy, yogurt , and chappathi

For three adults traveling together, it was nice to find a large, clean room with three comfortable single beds (rather than two beds and a roll-away). The room and bathroom were basic and everything worked. It seems necessary to say that since it's not always the case with lodging in some parts of the world. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant had quite a variety of food and our meals were tasty. Be advised if you order Indian food though: even if you ask for "mild" it may bring tears to your eyes. The waiter offered to take my dish back to the kitchen for a do-over and it was brought back a tasty but solidly "medium," which was fine with me but I had to laugh when he said the chef figured I must be Indian to have ordered that dish in the first place - the implication being that "hot" was the only way to go.

Room Tip: When you book a room, factor in that there are no elevators. Staff will gladly carry your bags but y...

We stayed here one night and the staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was delicious with a wide variety of choice. Would have marked it 5 but it has no pool.

The Brovad is a well kept basic hotel (by Western standards) however what makes the visit so lovely is the attentive staff.

From the time I checked in until I left the staff treated me with kindness and went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience. Prossy, at the front counter would great me each day with a smile and handshake. The cleaning staff to wait staff always enquired how I was and what could they do for me.

Sarah the owner introduced herself and talked about the new wing they are building. They hope to open a spa and pool next year, which will be a welcome addition.

Breakfast was included and you could order eggs or other items individually.

all in all a good experience and I would highly recommend the Brovad.

Room Tip: ask for a room that has a fan. rooms at the far end are best

Stayed here one night. They have several different room rate levels. I could only take the 150,000 UGS room due to employer cost limitations. My room was fairly shabby, bed uncomfortable, only a trickle of water that was only sometimes warm. No A/C. The restaurant and bar were great with friendly staff and good food although it took forever for the food to come. Large menu, but most of it is not available. Breakfast was good.
