“Experiencing Morocco with small children”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

We went to Morocco with our two small children (10 months and 3½ years) in february 2013. We wanted to experience something other than Marrakach, and Mouloud at Morocco Hikes recommended the four days desert trip. We were to see the kasbahs, ride camels into the dunes of the Sahara, stay one night in a berber tent, and see the movie studios of ourzazate, among other things. The trip needed a bit of planning, especially due to the children. Mouloud was really great, patiently answering all my questions before hand (and they were plentiful!), also the questions that did not directly involve the desert experience. When we were on our way, he proved very knowledgable and professional. The car was nice, and they provided a perfectly fine baby seat for the baby. Since it was a customized tour, we had quite a flexible schedule, wich is really the only way to do such a trip with children so young. We were absolutely happy and satisfied with Mouloud and Morocco Hikes, and would definitely recommend them to others. As for doing the trip with very young children, I would say, it involves A LOT of driving - more than we were prepared for, really. If your children are ok with that it's quite possible to do it with children, but car games and entertainment is an absolute must.

“A++ mountains and desert”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2012

We've booked a trip to merzouga dunes and the draa valley! Our guide was named Mouloud Blile. Ask for him if you do the tour! His is very friendly, educated and very intelligent. He is also licensed to guide as many people over there are not! Ask him what you want, he will tell you the answer! First day we saw the mountains and the valley, second day we went with a camel into the desert! We slept in a tent in a camp in the middle of the desert. great experience!
The first night we slept in a riad witch was basic but very clean, great food and friendly owners!
The tent in the camp was also basic but we had a bed and food! After we showered and ate breakfast in a hotel nearby. Everything was well organised, food was inclusive and very good. Lodging was basic but good! If you want you can always upgrade your lodging (ask in front).

Anyway: We had a great time and would recommend this company!

“Wow!”

What a fantastic tour we had to the waterfalls. The place was stunning. Our guide, Mouloud, was really informative and knowledgeable about the falls. I would definitely recommend Morocco Hikes and would use them again on all future tours in Maraakech.

“daytrip to Essaouira and 4-days desert trip !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

Following the good experience of last year this holiday we made 2 trips with Morocco Hikes. The first was a daytrip to Essaouira. It took a 2,5 hour drive from Marrakech to arrive there, but we had several stops at interesting places. When we arrived we had a delicious lunch in a restaurant at the beach. After Mouloud showed us all the interesting places of the city. In the evening we had dinner in a restaurant while we could enjoy the beautiful sunset, So we had a great day. Later we made a 4-days desert trip. We visited Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Dades Gorge, Todra Gorge and Merzouga (where we stayed the night in the lovely hotel Tombouctou, at the edge of the dunes and had a camel ride). On our last day of the trip we returned to Ouzoud. We were there before last year but this time we took a hike at the other side of the waterfalls. This time we also took a dive into the very cool water and loved it. Some places I would visit again because I felt that we have too little time spent (Todra Gorge and hotel Tombouctou). But that makes a good reason to come back one day. Thanks to Mouloud, our guide and Sabir, our excellent driver, we had a wonderful time.

“The guide you want and need!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2011

Moloud Bilie was our guide tour when we visited the Ouzoud waterfalls in marrakech in December. We paid 4 Euros each to be led around the area and were given a detailed history of the area, spoke to some Berbers and Mouloud was brilliant. He speaks an incredible number of languages fluently and communicated to everyone in our group of six in three different languages - English, French and Spanish. He lives in the area so is incredibly familiar with it. He doesn't just cover the history of the area, he goes into the geology and the anthropology and you go away with an incredible understanding of what you've just seen. Well worth the 4 Euros and it feels incredibly casual and fun, not like some rigid tours you go on that you just can't wait to be done with!

Happy Discovering!
