Dear Guneshwar,

Thank you for delightful feedback.

It is always a pleasure to hear such kind words from our guests. It is these motivational words that give us the energy to create wow moments for all our guests.

The chef’s van definitely serves the best burger of the Island. To further enhance the experience, we serve homemade ice creams from our beautiful parlor, just next to van. All guests fall in love with the same.

We look forward to have another opportunity to serve you.

Sincerely yours’,

We chose Tamassa based on the trip advisor recommendations and we were not disappointed. The staff could not do enough to make us welcome and comfortable. The food in the buffet restaurant good to excellent, with plenty of fresh options cooked in front of you and a wealth of options. Most nights had some sort of theme, but I highly recommend the Indian night which was by far the best. The Playa restaurant was excellent , though the a la carte restaurant was limited to 3 options per course (one of which had a supplement) with the options changing every night. Lobster was an additional option every night. The staff in the B Bar were very attentive and welcoming. We were there during the World Cup and they stayed open for us to watch the games, but be aware that drinks are charged after midnight. Also the free cocktails , which my wife and daughter sampled extensively, tend to use local liquor.
We had 2 trips out, one to Port Louis which was interesting, but i would not necessarily recommend as the port area is not to european standards and the city is largely commercial. However the most wonderful trip was to Iles de deus Cocos, a private island owned by the hotel. It can be used for weddings, but on the day we visited my family of four shared the island with 2 other couples (both on honeymoon). It was the most wonderful experience, each party had their own host to tend to their needs, we snorkelled in the beautiful sheltered bay, with the largest variation of fish i have seen before having freshly prepared lavish lunch and drinks, with live musicians and then walking round the island and then relaxing in hammocks on the beach with more drinks before leaving. I wonderful experience.
I haven't been to an all inclusive resort before, but the Tamassa has certainly given me a taste for it.i have no hesitation in recommending this hotel, and neither do my wife, 18 year old son and 17 year old daughter who all agree it was a very special experience.

We stayed for 10 days specifically because that is where our friends were staying, and we wanted to surprise them because we hadn't seen them for a long time.
We generally do not stay at all inclusive resorts, because we do not like being restricted to only eating at the resort.
Pros- great food with lots of variety and a changing menu; nice outlook with lovely sunsets; big comfortable bed with lovely sheets and towels; daily room cleaning; lots of free water activities and good pools and games room even a few computers for guest use; nice room layout with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge; excellent wifi and good selection of English TV channels.

Cons- isolated location with only other high end resorts nearby, so no real exposure to Mauritius itself; no option to eat a la carte at any of the 2 restaurants, so we had a buy a breakfast and lunch package as our booking was originally room only through Agoda; front desk did not have any information about tourist attractions nearby; jacuzzi was usually not hot enough, and sometimes dirty; the current is very strong on the beach so not really ideal for swimming except for in the small swimming are which they protected from the current by building rock break walls; poor room maintenance( AC didn't work properly, charging power points didn't work, no light in shower recess, fan didn't work, fridge didn't work well, we had a leak in our toilet which we had told them about for 3 days before we were finally moved to another (smaller) room. All issues were fixed quickly once we told them about them, but for the price paid, the maintenance should have been much better.

If you do stay there try to get out to the little village of Bai du Cap for lunch at a stall or a meal at one of the small restaurants- the Sunset Snacks restaurant has lovely Mauritian food cooked to order. Also catch the local bus to the bigger town of Chemin Grenier where you will find small markets, a supermarket and both Orange and Emtel shops to buy local phone SIMs. If you go to the main road, the taxis and mini vans going past will take you to Chemin Grenier for the same price as the bus fare which is MR 27pp. That is how we found a driver who took us to Port Louis for a day, and to Tamarin to swim with the dolphins, and to look around Chameral, Curepipe, and the Black River Gorge, all for a very reasonable price ( much cheaper than the travel agents). The drivers name is Sunil ph 59015422, you can bargain with him. He usually charged us MR2800 for a whole day out for 10 people, and we could decide where we wanted to go, or we could just tell him to take us to some interesting places as he used to be a tour guide in the past.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room. Room1084 seemed bigger than room1005 and room 1104, all ground floor ro...

Me an my husband came here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we couldn't have picked a better place. The service and ambience was excellent. The highlight was arranging for the seamstress to make us new clothes. The lovely lady in the shop liaised with the seamstress who was amazing. This is one talented lady - the result a lovely dress for me and shorts and a halter-neck top. My husband got a matching shirt (you'll spot us at festivals). All I can say is what a fantastic holiday.

The south-west is a beautiful part of Mauritius, with spectacular walks and drives through lush, tropical hillsides and a range of open-air activities in beautiful countryside. In front of the beach hotel, beyond the sandy beach, lies a turquoise lagoon that almost blends into the skyline. The sea air is invigorating and the ripples of the waves gently calming. Beyond, lie thousands of miles of open sea. The traditional style architecture ideally suits the tropical setting, with beautifully landscaped gardens. The buildings seem at one with the environment.
