We were so happy to have a great time there, people are very friendly and nice.we stadied there fo 5 days in a room near the river, you can drink coffee at the balcony in the morning, birds will sing a song for you.The waiters are very friendly and humour, the food are not very suitable for us,because there are not many kinds food loved by Chinese people .the swimming pool is very good and beautiful, there have free wifi.

Room Tip: rooms besides the river are quieter

We came from South Africa. From the time of our arrival we were treated in the most special manner. The staff (and here we need to say all staff from the persons attending to our room to the management) were unbelievable. We felt so special. The whole staff are like a family. All seemed to have the same objective, that is to please. This was a birthday present for a special birthday and turned out to be just that, very special. The facilities at the resort from water sports, to gym, to children's club were all great. Meals were of a high standard and we kept commenting that the presentation was like the TV progamme "Master Chef". On the food side we opted for half board and found this more than adequest. In fact we had buffet twice on one of the days and felt this was a bit much and opted to rather have the ala carte option, which is a three course meal. Due to dietry constraints we requested variations. This was always well accommodated. Interestingly when we went for the meals the requirements that we had advised were known to the managers at the various restaurants. We used predominantly Annabellas, Beach Club and Le Chateau. The Buffet at Balafour (Awaly Resort) was also excellent. We did bring along some of our own snacks. Beach facilities were excellent as were the three (3) pools (one of which was a heated pool). There was also an additional pool at the Kids Club. Our children enjoy the Kids Club activities. We used the tennis facilities at the Kids Club. This provided for decent rackets and the option of buying rackets, tennis shoes and playing gear. Shuttles between different points were always available at short notice. Beach and pool facilities were really good and there as not a shortage of loungers or towels. The pool facility closes at 6 and this we felt was a bit early. Would be nice if this was available to say 7:30. There was sufficient variety of TV channels on the free option. Organised snorkeling facilities were very good and available twice a day, as was the Glass Bottom boat. Beach Shoes are a good option but this beach was good and only when walking in the water on the coral was this necessary. We would recommend that you take your own snorkel as it is possible to snorkeling quite close to the beach, so it is nice to go on your own. Very safe as it is shallow. Snorkeling further out is quite spectacular. We did ot use the Spa facility. There are only two (2) facilities that more could be provided for. This being free wifi in the rooms and entertainment at night. The wifi was available in the main reception area and the Cavendish bar/lounge. Extending this facility to the rooms would be a very nice touch. Entertain was also in the Cavendish and was a variety of musicians. This was pleasant but perhaps could be improved to provide for a bigger variety of entertainement such as dancers and other entertainers etc. Sadly we had to come back to the real world, but the holiday at Heritage Le Telfair will be long remembered. We hope to return in the not to distant future. What a wonderful resort. Treat yourself and travel to this wonderful resort for what we called "Best holiday Ever. Mark, Andrea and Kids

No matter which hotel or destination you sreach for on Tripadvisor, you'll always find a number of negative reviews. These are often from people who regard themselves as " critics".
Forget the negative reviews written against this fine hotel.
My wife and I were not enjoying our stay at another hotel on the island of Mauritus. This was part of a 3 destination holiday to celebrate our pearl wedding anniversary.
Whilst touring the island one day by car, we dropped in on the Heritage Le Telfair for a
coffee and to see what it was like. Within minutes, we knew that this is where we wanted to spend the remainder of our week in Mauritus. Why? Because of the hotel's luxurious and opulent setting, the standard of service that we receeived, the quality of accommodation and also because we felt that the reception staff really cared about our situation. After being guided around the hotel by the delightful receptionist, Ludovic, we sat diwn to enjoy our coffee in the Cavendish bar. Meanwhile, Ludovic called our operator to try and sort out a transfer. Within 24 hours, we had checked out of our previous hotel and were ensconced in the luxury of the Heritage Le Telfair. We have now enjoyed a fantastic 4 days here and return home relaxed and with our hearts full of wonderful memories.
Thank you Stephan and your hotel staff for making this holiday one to remember.
We will be back!!

Room Tip: The junior suite with an outside shower is fab! So you need one on the ground floor.

Paradise! We had three days here and seven in one of the chalets built around the golf course which is in superb condition, with golf buggies to get around.
Hiring clubs cost 1700 rupees per round(£37) and buggies more ,so taking my own clubs if I am lucky enough to return. Golf club staff very friendly and food enjoyable and reasonably priced.
The hotel was hard to fault with service and quality of food as expected of a five star.We were on a half board basis with rather expensive supplements if straying off main menu, barbecue night( which was very good) being too much of a supplement for most people hence some empty tables and lots of surplus food.
Water sports on the shallow and warm ocean are a must and the cbeach bar a favourite with our two families.
The Chateau restaurant is very impressive but alas,we didn't get to sample the cuisine there feeling that our fourteen year olds wouldn't appreciate it.
Weddings were taking place daily and apart from two days of rain it seemed to me to be a perfect venue.

A nice drive from the airport to Le Telfair, once we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and escorted to our rooms, although my room wasn't a sea view room but the garden view was lovely and calm.. the room was spacious and very neat and clean, but it was a little bit too classic for my taste.

We rested and freshened up and then we were treated to a beautiful lunch on the beach, and the weather was amazing, then we took a tour in the resort and played some golf in their 18 hole golf club and we even visited the private pool villas which are absolutely incredible and very much recommended for families.

At night we were treated to a lovely dinner at the main restaurant and the food was yummy, and then we joined the party by the pool which was fun. Going back to our rooms the only downside was the lizards in the doorway outside the room, but you don't have to worry about that as they cant get in unless you leave the room door open. and we had a peaceful night sleep.

Breakfast was smooth and it there was a lot of options, including Halal food for Muslims.. we checked out around 11 a.m. and all in all we had a wonderful stay at Le Telfair.

Stayed 4 nights. Rooms are excellent, large and spacious with a large bath. The bed mattresses are hard - made of foam rubber? Not very pleasant and not suitable for such a pricy hotel. Room service is terrible. Expensive, took a very long time, the food was either cold or not cooked (chicken).
Breakfast is very good and the service is good.
Reception service is good and fast.
Gin'ja restaurant service was appalling - not very mindful of customers and how to manage them. Very expensive (+$100 per head) but food was very good (as it should be at these price levels!)
The hotel is close to several water sport acitivites, somewhat erratic planning and execution. the dolphin trip is very nice, the glass boat can easily be skipped.
Near a beautiful golf course that is part of the same complex - the Heritage gold course. The greens are like velvet.
The Beach bar service is struggling. Waiters not too attentive and very slow. Usually took 2-3 tries to get what we ordered or even a menu. Then missing cutlery or drinks etc.
The Spa is very good, good areas for children with kids club that offers baby sitting.
The beach is beautiful and the water very clean and nice. Looks safe from petty crime
Internet is not good, slow and have to reconnect at each area of the hotel. Probably not the most wifi intensive hotel location there is, but in the modern age this is not good enough.

Overall very nice hotel, good location, very nice areas around the pools and beach, but dragged down by the human factor.
So would be a 4 star in my book, not 5.
Ask for rooms facing the beach, ground floor, avoid room service

Room Tip: Get a room facing the beach on the ground floor, so you can walk straight out to the beach or pools...

Stayed at this beautiful resort early September and had a wonderful relaxing time on the gourmet bliss package (All inclusive) . The staff were excellent especially in the Cavendish Bar. We had a junior suite which was extremely comfortable and spacious, with a four poster bed and beautiful bathroom. The suite came with the services of a butler whose name was Jennifer, who was extremely helpful and made our stay even more special by arranging our restaurant reservations and even running a rose petal bubble bath in our suite. If you get the chance hire the hotels range rover where you get the services of a driver (Coco). This was a brilliant day out and Coco is extremely attentive and informative. Also the couple's spa should not be missed. Took advantage of the free green fees (AI package) at the resort golf course which is a must if you are a keen golfer. My wife who has just started playing thoroughly enjoyed the 9 hole par 3 course which is centred in the middle of the 18 hole golf course. The staff here are also excellent and made our golf experiences even more enjoyable. Lunch at the club house should not be missed. Overall an amazing holiday and we will certainly be looking to return sometime in the very near future.

Room Tip: Well worth the extra money for a junior suite
