I arrived late in Evening to a warm welcome, place into the room of my choice, so clean big, comfortable, hot hot shower, balcony overlooking beautiful gardens, the grounds superb, the swimming pool awesome.
Definitely a good place to be for a business trip.

We had chosen the Falcon Heights in search of a new place approaching international standards, and we were not disappointed. The structure of the establishment is lovely, the rooms are furnished with brand-new furniture and fittings, modern in style, but with an African slant. Everything is immaculate clean, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly, a sign of good training on the part of the management.
That's, unfortunately, where the good news ends. The restaurant is the real sore point for guests that are captive customers anyway, owing to the utter dearth of decent eateries in Nanyuki. Not that the food is not good. It is average or better, but it takes forever. We tried the restaurant three times, excluding breakfasts, and it took ages each time, in spite of the excuses given by the staff. That's enough to spoil an otherwise very promising hotel.

We arrived around lunchtime and were expediently checked into our rooms. The front desk staff were efficient and kind. Our room was pleasantly appointed. Next time I would prefer a room with a shower rather than a bath. Lunch was a la cart and did take a little while to arrive but we knew that would happen based on previous reviews. I ordered the beef curry and it was delicious. Others ordered pizza which did not look as appetizing to me.
Dinner was buffet with a man cooking to-order stir fry which was the best I'd had ever in Kenya. The vegetables were fresh and not over cooked. The hotel grounds were very well kept and I would definitely recommend to other travelers. It was a very good cost for what we received.

My only complaint would be with regards to alcohol. The amount of wine in a glass is low as well as what they consider a shot. They claim to measure it exactly which may be the problem. Being American, I am used to a little over pour to show some good faith. A little extra makes me want to order another glass and leave a tip. The glasses they poured were a little stingy.

Breakfast was good as well. The same gentleman from dinner was cooking and he made tasty crepes and omelettes.

Thank you for an overall very good stay.

Must say this is a hidden gem. Was recommended by a friend and I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone else. Excellent service right from the reservation process (big thanks to Yvonne), check in, restaurants, rooms everything was just wonderful. Fully enjoyed the weekend, intention was to visit Nanyuki town, but loved the hotel so much, we stayed in all weekend.

First the good. The ambience, decor and general layout are excellent. The finishing in the rooms and the restaurant are especially top-notch. It is a new, small quiet hotel just on the perimeter of Nanyuki town. The staff are generally very helpful and prompt in assisting you. Even the boisterous poolside antics of the lads from the nearby British army training base are welcome- they bring a bit of life to an otherwise sedate environment.

Now the bad. The food and food service let the place down a bit. The food is just ok, not bad but not excellent either. The real problem is that the food takes ages to arrive. Even a simple meal like sandwich and fries takes 45min to an hour. True, this isnt a fast-food joint, but the wait is still too long. There seems to be a bottleneck in the kitchen area. My advice - pay for B&B only, then get lunch and dinner in one of the many eating places in Nanyuki town, which is like a 1-minute drive away and always open till late.

But overall, this is still THE hotel of choice in Nanyuki. The Mt.Kenya Safari Club is too expensive, and Sportsman's Arms hotel is dingy compared to Falcon Heights.

Room Tip: ASk for a room facing the lawns on the pool side!

The rooms are stunning and well set out. There is a small swimming pool and bar area which is good to relax next to. The menu in restaurant is small and food not of a very good standard. I stayed for 6 nights and ate in restaurant for 2, breakfast is charged at 1500ksh which compared to town and other hotels is treble the price and not very good. If you are to stay there eat at Kongoni camp or other restaurants in town.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a high standard.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 months and cannot speak highly enough about it and the staff. It is superbly manicured, superbly clean and the staff well trained and attentive. The manager, Fred, is a true gentleman, clearly a great leader, and so very helpful. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable and the facilities at the hotel top rate for the price range. Of course there are more luxurious hotels in the area but not at this price and value. I would certainly stay again if on a budget.

There are always areas that are slightly towards the negative and Falcon Heights is no exception. Sometimes food in the restaurant takes far too long (over and hour) to arrive at the table; this was not just an isolated event, it happened a few times and it made me explore other restaurants where my time was tight. The other annoying aspect of this hotel is the use of the hotel by large groups of people (non-residents) at weekends who monopolise the pool area, drinking excessively and making considerable noise until the late/early hours.

Those issues aside, it is a lovely place to be.

Room Tip: For good (better) Wi-Fi connections ask for a room closer to the restaurant area as the signal is we...
