“Amazing experience - can't wait to go back”

Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is Kenya at its best from the amazing scenery at the foot of Mt Kenya, fantastic hospitality from Alex and team, luxurious spacious tents to wonderful food and unforgettable game drives. We went with our three teenage kids who repeatedly were amazed by the scenery and wildlife which was made even more special by very few vehicles. Ol Pejeta has plenty of game and great moments were watching cheetah eating a kill and following wild dogs.
Getting up close to the rhinos was a real privilege. During the day and at night game graze close to the camp which made it even more exciting. Its a highly recommended experience and...can't wait to go back.

Have just returned from a wonderful time at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp. The entire staff were gracious and hospitable. Alex, Murray, Moses, Duma and the whole team responded to every query with “sure we can do that” - and then went on to deliver as promised. The tent was spacious and comfortable, with a hot shower available at any requested time. The morning wake-up was a delightful blend of fresh coffee and chirping birdsong. Meals were delicious and plentiful. Each game drive started with anticipation and ended with reflections on abundant and diverse natural wonders: startling views of Mt Kenya and the Aberdares - impala, zebra and warthogs galore – along with elephants, rhinos, cheetah, lion – saddle-bill stork, Kori bustard, Marshall eagle … the list goes on. I’ve been on many safaris over thirty years, but nothing tops the experience at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp. Am planning a repeat visit with friends and family in tow.

Room Tip: Every tent has a view of the river - often with hippos in the water and visiting elephants on the op...

Jon, Gemma, Danny and I had a fantastic few days at OL Pejeta camp in August this year. Alex and his team were first class hosts and we saw the most amazing wild life ever. The luxury tents are very spacious and we had hot showers on request. We were very close to the wild life and even saw lion whilst sitting by the camp fire. The food was of a very high standard and more than we could eat. We did 2 game drives a day and the guides were very knowledgable and wanted us to see as much as possible. Alex then arranged for us to climb Mount Kenya which was also an amazing experience. We would love to go back one day.

We have been going to Kenya our entire lives and now we are brining our children. This was a family trip with Grand Parents and the kids. From our arrival with a lovely lunch in the dinning tent to lovely moments by the bush fire and candle lit dinners. The tents could accommodate all of us and were beautifully situated along the river with views of the incoming game. Not to mention the camp resident buffalo - Russell & Bromley. Nights were full of exciting sounds in the bush. Food was perfect/ wine was bountiful and Mosses and the team took care to ensure the kids meals were all sorted, when needed. As for the game rides - before we get there, Alex the owner, has a penchant for beautiful classic Toyotas and Land Rovers - all redone and perfect for game rides - the kids were able to ride on the roof as we viewed - lion, elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo, etc. Alex is very hands on and his passion really shines through. I would recommend visiting the Ol Pejeta Conservation projects if you have time - water, education, agricultural projects. And of course the Rhino Sanctuary was fabulous. All within a short game drive to get to these locations. This camp is as authentic as it gets - leaves you feeling like you are in Africa - with wood fired smoked hot water showers - but trust us - the the lux quotient is surely there - we had 4 beautiful nights and many amazing game rides with very knowledge drivers - some of the top game drivers in the region.

Alex, the host, is fantastic. We arrived very late due to flight problems. At 11 pm we got in and they had dinner waiting for us. Staff was wonderful. Bucket showers are soooo nice. You hear lots of animals outside your tent but feel totally safe and pampered. Alex even took some runners out for an early morning run in a safe area. Staff did a great job of accommodating a gluten free member of the party. The "lounge" tent is a great place to observe animals and have a drink. They have a "charger area" for everybody to recharge camera batteries.
The camp is right in the middle of the wildlife. This means no long drive to "get there". It is a long drive from Nairobi. I would suggest flying into Nanuki. We loved it
I would recommend the Rhino sanctuary, but would pass on the chimp preserve. That might just be me..

A remarkable bush camp with large comfortable tents with beds more comfortable than mine at home, I will come back not only for the incredible safari experience but also the best food and drink I've ever had at a bush camp.
