We stayed two nights at Cliffrose Lodge and Gardens in early November. The heated pool and hot tub were still open and were close to our room, so we enjoyed them both. Our room was a suite, with a living room / dining room area, a kitchen, and a hall to a bathroom and the bedroom. There was also a Murphy bed in the living room, which we didn't use. Surprisingly, there was only a toaster oven to go with the stovetop, but no microwave oven. Outside, there were chairs on the patio area for viewing the magnificent view.

The grounds are fantastic, and we were told by an employee that there were 5 deer on the lawn when we arrived at our room (via the steep driveway). Sure enough, we saw the deer (all does). Later, a buck wandered by the pool and hot tub (which we were in - enjoying the view and the sunset), and probably would have joined us, if there wasn't a fence keeping him out. How often do you see that at a motel?

We bought some firewood from the front desk and enjoyed the firepit our first night. There were no bugs. But a flashlight is needed to see your way down to the firepit area when it is dark. This was provided to us by the front desk (when we got the firewood).

There is free wifi (which we ised) and a computer in the office which was very convenient, and heavily used by us, as we had to make other reservations (printing forms, filling them out, and then scanning them) that day, for future travels. As I wandered the garden area, I saw that there were breaks in the fence down by the river, where you could go through and sit on the sand at the river's edge. Chairs there were provided by the motel.

Since we arrived at a time of year when you didn't need to use the shuttle in the park, we never walked the path to the visitors center, as we drove into the park ourselves.

We would definitely stay here again.

..Have you ever passed by a familiar spot many times and then finally stop and realize "why haven't I stopped here before!...." That was us and the Cliffrose Lodge. Family have been traveling to Springdale since the early 90's. We have camped and hiked, motel/hotel and shopped through Springdale/Zion over two dozen times! I'm mad at myself for not having stayed here before! Family did an early Thanksgiving trip here for 4 days. Got a great deal on a room so we thought lets do it! This is a mixture of Cable Mountain and the Desert Pearl. Has the beautiful grounds of the Desert Pearl and the location of right next to the Park Headquarters just like Cable Mountain. We got a river side 2xqueen and it even had a hideaway loveseat that we didn't expect! Easily best value of any hotel/motel in Springdale (stayed at everyone so I know...) and if you are a true hiker/naturalist, we walked to the park and most of our meals (Cafe Soleil 20 yards from room! Rocked my world......) and spent nights sitting by firepit on sand river side under full moon with deer literally walking by behind your chair not 15 yards from back porch of our room! Interesting for my wife is the first night there, a wonderful wedding took place on the nearby grounds with really great people and the next afternoon a family reunion/wake for a passing patriach held in the same spot, different family, all because of the beauty of the grounds and the wonderful people who run this place!...my family all agreed that both were cool and its where we would want either to take place! This is a place that just works! We have reservations already for summer of 2013!!!

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are the best! There are no bad rooms, just which are closer to the river!

This is a great hotel for those wanting to explore Zion. The room was great, the view spectacular, the hot tub nice to sit in and watch the sun shine in the nearby cliffs. There is no breakfast offered but there is a nearby place for that. The hotel is quite a drive away from Kanab if you are wanting to do The Wave, or at least try to win the lottery to do so.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

The first week of November, my daughter, my 2 grandchildren and I went to Zion National Park for five days, and stayed at the Cliffrose Lodge right outside the park. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here (the last time was in 2006) but this time we stayed in a newer 2BR suite which was absolutely beautiful. It had a full kitchen with granite counter tops, a large table in the eating area which was next to a comfortable sitting area, central heat/air and 2 very large bedrooms with a large bathroom off of each. We had a gorgeous view from our large balcony which had a nice patio table and chairs. The rooms were spotlessly clean and we had a wonderful, comfortable stay and the office staff and was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely rent this suite the next time we visit Zion NP which we plan to do next November!

We've stayed here for the 4th time now and wouldn't go anywhere else in Springdale.
The rooms are big, clean and comfortable. Locationwise this would also be the best choice as it's located more or less right next to the South Entrance of Zion N.P..
Unfortunately, there is no breakfast included.

We stayed in a 1 BR suite, which was huge. Comfy beds including the pull down murphy in the living area. The grounds are beautiful, the hot tub great and our rate really reasonable. Only problem was the frig which was too small and either froze everything or let it go bad. Bring a cooler and use that instead. I mentioned this when we checked out and he said that they plan to update the rooms and probably the appliances. Which is good as the furnishings, tho nice, are just a bit spartan. The rooms are a bit dark - perhaps upper level suites would be better.
The views from our patio were redrock gorgeous and the location at the east end of town closest to the park entrance was perfect. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Lower level 1 br suite room 138 very private and great view of grounds and red rocks.

The riverside hotel rooms look out on the lovely grounds, and the Virgin River. An easy walk to the west gate of the visitors' center (and the hotel graciously will let you leave your car on the grounds even if you have checked out that day). Great views from the balcony, quiet comfortable rooms. A nice restaurant on the street above. Choose a riverside room - it is worth the difference in price.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms are quieter and more private.
