“Great Place to Stay”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

We have been staying at the Cliffrose for over 20 years. They continue to make it a great place to enjoy your trip to Zion National Park. We have never been disappointed. They have recently made several additional improvements, making it better. The garden setting makes it a great place to enjoy the beauty of the area.

Room Tip: For larger groups look into the River View Suites.

Wonderful place to stay right on the edge of Zion national park. Don't think twice about staying here. Wonderful views with hummingbird feeders on your balcony. Clean and clear rooms. Lovely pool and 24hr jacuzzi. Best hotel we stayed at on our two week trip to the region.

Room Tip: Riverside view second floor - or first floor if you want to stroke the cats!

We stayed here two nights while visiting Zion and hiking the Narrows, and this is a beautiful place to stay. At first impression it strikes you as a typical motel when you pull into the front parking lot, but don't let that fool you. We booked a 2-queen riverside room and requested the second floor, which is what we got. The room was updated and plenty spacious, with a sizable balcony overlooking the back lawn and the Virgin River. The beds were very comfortable, and there is a small pullout as well.
The location is fantastic - just a few minutes walk along the path takes you to the entrance to the park where you can catch the shuttles. There is one lodge between the Cliffrose and the park entrance. But what really sets the Cliffrose apart, though, is the grounds and the landscaping. There are gorgeous flowers and plants everywhere, with plenty of shade and little paths/walkways through the property. They clearly pay a lot of attention to detail - you could see it in the way the gardeners tended to their work.
The pool and jacuzzi area are extremely nice as well. The section of the Virgin River right behind the lodge is great for tubing - the kids will love it. The store right next to the park entrance sells tubes in various sizes and at reasonable prices, so you don't need to worry about bringing them.
The rates are a bit high, which is the only factor that keeps my value rating from being a five. On the other hand, that seemed to be the case at most of the places in Springdale because it's a small town. So overall, this is a great place to stay. Gorgeous property with gorgeous views.

Room Tip: Riverside rooms directly face the Virgin River and are on the side facing away from the main road. A...

Don't think twice about it -- this is where you should stay. Excellent location, service, grounds, pool, hot tub, stream and view, rooms, hummingbirds ....oh and did I say LOCATION? We are not a family that goes to luxury resorts expecting to be pampered...this doesn't have what I would call an uncomfortable/'elitist' feel. (Although I'd say the cotton sheets qualify as over the top.) It is a welcoming, beautiful lodge that is WALKING distance from one of the most spectacular places in the U.S. It is also next to a great breakfast/lunch place (with gluten free pizza and cookies! and great coffee) and right by the shuttle to 'town', which you could really walk to but is nice when it is hot.

Room Tip: Pay the little extra to reserve a room next to the river, with a full view of the red mountains, on...

We had been looking forward to returning to this lodge, having visited last in 2005. We were so pleased with our most recent experience! The Lodge is now managed by the adult children of the founder; they seem to be doing a great job of retaining the bucolic nature of this property. They are very accommodating and helpful to guests; their respectful & congenial relationship with their staff helps to create a very easy-going atmosphere all 'round.
The pool, the gardens, the rooms, and the unobtrusive service were just lovely! We hope "the kids" are able to retain the laid-back atmosphere and beautiful access to Zion Canyon as they grow the facility and their business.

This resort is amazing. It was our favorite place of all the places we stayed at in the southwest. It is quite and cool, and in the shade. It has wonderful guests houses and a great pool. Very close to the park, and is near some good restaurants.

Cliffrose was an unexpected pleasure. We thought we would be at a plain ole' motel and instead got a real treat! The grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are lovely and clean, and the location is perfect for a walk along the river, a hike in Zion or some nice gallery shopping and dinner in town. The best part: dozens of hummingbirds stop by for breakfast. Beginning my day on my balcony with a cup of coffee and those tiny visitors at the feeders was such a delight! We had only planned one night there, but liked it so much we stayed for two.
