The Driftwood Lodge was our home base for a 3-night "guy's weekend" adventure trip to celebrate a buddy's 50th birthday checking off bucket list items like mountain biking Gooseberry Mesa, and canyoneering in Zion National Park.

It was perfect! Arrival and check in was simple, and our side-by-side ground floor rooms had patios Adirondack chairs to catch up, sip a cold beverage, take in the amazing colors of the setting sun on the cliffs, and watch the full moon rise.

Breakfast was tasty, and since we were 3 minutes from our guide shop, and 4 from the park entrance, it was a snap to get to the start point of our daily excurisons. After biking hard for 6 hours the hot tub soothed the aching muscles, and the clean, cozy, comfortable beds awaited for a silent night's sleep.

Our room had a coffee maker for a quick brew in the morning and fridge to stash a cold brew for the afternoon. The only suggestion I can offer is to improve the speed of the free WiFi system. But heck, with the natural beauty around you, why should you be on the internet anyway?

Stay at the Driftwood, you'll enjoy it.

Room Tip: Can't go wrong! Ground floor patios were a fun way to enjoy the afternoon and sunset.

Dear guest, we are so glad that you chose to celebrate such a special occasion here at the Driftwood, and we thank you for the wonderful and thoughtful comments about us. Our staff does their very best to ensure that each guest is made to feel welcome, and that everything runs smoothly. When we get reviews like yours, then we know we are doing something right.

Our breakfast buffet has been a work in progress, and we think that it is now one of the best in town. We have a great mix of hot and cold items, so there is something for everyone. Although it is not feasible to change the menu daily, there is plenty to choose from, even if you are here for multiple days.

We are in the process of upgrading the WiFi speed, and hope that this will not be an issue next season. We appreciate your attitude, and agree that there are better ways to spend your time at Zion than being online. But we also know that staying connected can be extremely important, and we are doing our best to make our network faster and more reliable for our guests.

We are pleased that you noticed the amenities, and took the time to comment on them. It is the little things, as well as the service, that go into making great memories. It was a real pleasure meeting all of you, and we hope that you will celebrate all of your special occasions with us.

Driftwood is a very nice clean hotel that has been updated. There are several different buildings and I had the impression that some were newer and/or more updated. The couple we were traveling with had a dog and they were in the dog friendly building. Their room was much larger than ours and had a patio out back of the room with a view of the cliffs. Made me wish I had brought my dog.

Breakfast was just slightly above most hotel complimentary breakfasts. Oatmeal was instant that had to be mixed with hot water. Passed on that. Coffee was excellent.

The hot tub and pool were still open and were clean and well maintained. The town shuttle to Zion NP has a stop right at the hotel.

Room Tip: Use Tripadvisor and hotel information to determine which building you will be staying in before you...

Dear guest, thank you so much for staying with us. We are pleased to have some pet-friendly rooms, and they were indeed recently renovated. Each building on our property offers something different in the way of amenities and views, and so guests have a variety of options to choose from when making their reservations. We are happy to answer all questions, and since we know the Driftwood inside and out (as we should), it is best to call us directly for information.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy the breakfast. We have made every effort to provide a good variety for the guests, without raising the rates. It is difficult to get items out of season, especially since we are in a somewhat remote location. But we will continue to look for ways to make the breakfast even better.

We thank you for your feedback, and will use it constructively to improve the overall experience of our guests. Our goal is to be the place where everyone wants to stay when they visit Zion!

We only stayed one night in this lodge but we had a great experience. We booked this lodge because of the great reviews on TA. The lodge is on a great location near the entrance of the park and some stores.
Rooms are spacious and very clean. We also had a balcony but it was a little bit too cold to sit outside.
I recommend this hotel to couples who want to stay in a romantic location.

Dear guest, thank you so much for the lovely comments. We also think that our location is perfect, since we are not in the center of town, but still within easy walking or driving distance of the shops, restaurants and galleries that make Springdale so unique.

We hope that you are able to return to Zion, and that you stay with us again.

While we were disappointed not to see Zion and Bryce as we had originally planned due to the government shutdown, we were not disappointed by our stay in Springdale. We found our room to be relaxing and clean. We also had none of the issues reported by other reviewers - the bathroom and its accessories were well situated and I appreciated the small kitchenette (microwave, coffee pot, and refrigerator) that was included in the room. Our room was located on the second floor and view were very nice. I also appreciated the free wi-fi and hot breakfast. Often when a location states that breakfast is included your food choices are limited to toast, cold cereal, and fruit. Here you had the choice of eggs and bacon/sausage and yogurts as well. The staff was very helpful and accommodating on restaurant recommendations and things to do in the area. Additionally, we were quite surprised by the charming nature of Springdale and plan to return in the future. We will definitely stay at the Driftwood Lodge again.

Dear guest, thank you so much for the wonderful review. Although we were disappointed by the government shutdown as well, we did our best to offer alternatives to the national parks. There are many state parks and historic landmarks in the area, and the visitors who stayed here during the "hiatus" saw things that many people don't even know about. It sounds as though you made the best of it, and we hope that your vacation memories are only of good times.

We are also very pleased that you enjoyed the room and its amenities, as well as the breakfast. We hope that you are able to visit the area again, so that you can explore Zion in its entirety. We look forward to seeing you again when you make your next trip!

We too ended up here during the govt shutdown. Since we had traveled far, and our next rooms were reserved in Vegas, we determined to make the best of it and explore the area, even if our plans for Zion and Bryce were thwarted. We had a 'suite', a strangely laid out area where there was a nice sitting room and TV, with a counter in between that and the bedroom/bath area, where the sink resided. The hair dryer was located (permanently) above the microwave on the opposite side of the sink. There was a Krups machine in the room, that was a nice touch, but the place is noisy. Fortunately we had a couple about our age above us who rose and went to bed at about the same time as once someone was up, it was over with for sleeping. (My spouse stated, that he wished owners stayed in their own properties from time to time to hear it) The views are really nice of the Zion area from the chairs in the back patios, and we very much enjoyed that. The breakfast was not good, as another reviewer stated, industrial eggs and frozen waffles, frozen bagels, with no change for the three days we were there. We had no trouble with fresh linens and towels, or soap as someone else reported around this same timeframe. But we were in the building just in front of them. If the park had been open we would have been thrilled with the bus stopping right in front of the property.
The staff was very nice and made some very good recommendations on other things to do while the park was shut down. We took their advice and did get to see another condor on our visit.

So this may be a bit of an odd review - due to the government shut down our trip to Zion National Park had to be put on hold. We had reservations at Driftwood Lodge and had to cancel them, so never actually stayed at the hotel! Their normal policy would not have let us get a refund so close to our trip, but they made an exception due to the government shut down and gave us a complete refund! They were so nice and accommodating about it, I felt compelled to leave this review for them.
When we hopefully get to try and do this trip again, we will definitely rebook with them!

The setting is superb situated between two cliffs. Loved watching the play of light on the rocks both morning and evening from our patio. Added to that is the convenience of easy access to a free shuttle through town and to Zion. In order to enjoy fresh air at night, I had to prop the door open as windows cannot be opened. Amenities in the room were fine but the plumbing fixtures were showing signs of wear and need of some maintenance. Breakfasts were disappointing and my friends and I chose to pass up free breakfast the third morning for something well prepared. How could waffles be nearly impossible to cut through unless way over-microwaved? Staff always pleasant and accommodating.
