“Excellent- relaxing, clean and beautiful surroundings!”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

We just returned from our stay at the Driftwood. Our patio was 20ft away from a small pasture with 2 horses (no smell, don't worry) It was so relaxing to have a glass of wine and watch the horses and the cliffs in the background, truly a highlight of our trip. Room was very clean and spacious, modern and updated. Although this is a pet friendly hotel there was no smell or evidence. River runs behind the property, so pretty. Much nicer than the chain hotels!

Stayed for one night on a very last minute trip to Zion. The room we had was a ground floor two room suite. The room itself was a little old but had been updated nicely. It appeared to have been at one time two adjoining rooms they combined together. The patio was nice but we were envious of the balconys above so went to the front desk to see if we could moved to an upstairs room. The only other room available was an upstairs in the new building which would have been a $20 upcharge. She let us look at it to decide, but preferred the view from our room slightly better so just stayed. However, the room in the new building was beautiful and very nice. A little smaller than our two room suite but much more updated. So if this is a concern for you I would book in the new building. There is a beautiful river that runs behind the property and really nice grassy grounds all around.

We stayed at the Driftwood Lodge for 3 nights. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable. The balcony offered a beautiful view of the park. We didn't have time for the pool, but it appeared clean and was a nice size. The laundry room (my first ever laundromat experience) was clean, the machines were good size and like new. The staff at the front desk was friendly and offered good advice about the town and the park. We only used the shuttle once, but it worked great. Zion was a favorite on our Grand Tour, and we would love to go back. If we do, we will definitely stay at here again.

We stayed here mainly because we were traveling with a pet. It's $25 extra per night with the pet and you must kennel the pet when it's left in the room alone. :( The room was very large with two queen beds, a round dinner table, a fridge and microwave. It has a patio off the back and a large yard out back so the dog has tons of room to run. The hotel is old but kept up just fine. The air conditioner was loud but soothing. The room does have several "pet stains" on the carpet but it smelled clean. I think the room was 42 or 44. The pool was supposed to close at 10pm but when we showed up at 9:50pm the guy was very nice enough to let it stay open longer so we could enjoy a hot tub soak. The hotel is just a little to far from town to walk in, so if you want to do that, stay in a little closer. However it's great for a stay at Zion. By the way, there is only one trail in all of Zion where you can bring your dog.

We booked this rather last minute, rang up and negotiated a stay in their new room adjacent to the mountains...spectacular views...luxurious/tastefully decorated. The photos speak for themselves! Cassie on the front desk was very welcoming

The adjacent restaurant Parallel 88 (not actually under same ownership, I believe) was so good we dined there both nights of our stay. Delicious, quality food and Nicholle who served us treated us like friends.
It's the sort of place we could have stayed for ever..

Room Tip: Try and get a mountain-side lodge for ultimate location/views

Don't expect 5 star luxury 'coz that's not what this hotel is about. Rather you'll get a reasonable room, with terrace/ balcony, possibly with a stunning view of Zion NP (which we had), and use of a decent pool and spa. If you don't want to drive up to the Visitor Centre for the (free) canyon shuttle bus, there's a shuttle bus stop right outside the hotel. Staff are very friendly, and the hotel is a welcome laid back oasis of calm after the touristy Grand Canyon area. WiFi was just about workable. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again despite what I think are overly optimistic prices.

We booked a last minute trip to Zion and did not have many hotel choices, as most were sold out. We were very pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Driftwood Lodge! We stayed in one of the new buildings at the rear of the property. The room was very tastefully furnished with comfy beds and nice linens. We had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountain (as well as the cows in the next pasture!) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Zion.

We had an excellent dinner at the hotel's restaurant, too. The only downside there was the slow, somewhat inattentive service. But the food was very good and surprisingly upscale & inspired.
