“Kyle was great!”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

I 'm not sure if our bartender, Kyle, is the owner or employee of Bit & Spur, but he made us newbies to the Zion area, feel so welcome. Just as he did everyone we saw come in after us, old friends and new. What a great guy! We just wanted a couple of drinks to mellow out after a very long drive from Idaho. We will definitely be back to Zion and have a meal at Bit & Spur upon our return!

“Just missing it's potential”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

After our first night in Zion, my wife and I were ready for a relaxing dinner on an outdoor patio. The Bit & Spur was our choice and our first impression was that it was a quaint piece of local flavor - just what we were hoping for to wrap up day one.

The service was fine, although we only counted two waitresses for a busy evening. Nothing to complain about - just a little slower than you would expect.

The Bit & Spur has a very nice menu - varied selections to satisfy a variety of tastes and desires. However - here's where the criticism begins. The flavor was just underwhelming for both of our entrees…I would even go as far as using the word "bland". The portions were generous and the potential for a great meal was right there within grasp, but the flavor just fell far short of expectations. It almost felt as if it were a conscious overreaction to avoid being too spicy or too seasoned.

This may have been an isolated experience, so take it with a grain of salt (pun intended). So close to being excellent, but if the food quality falls short then average is the best rating that I can serve up for this local option.

“Excellent meal, great service.”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Southwestern, creative cuisine. Generous portions. Knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff. We ate here three years before when visiting Zion and remembered an excellent meal then also. You won't be disappointed.

“Sopes were good.....Polenta Stack not so much!”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

We are vegetarians and found a few vege items on the menu. The sopes, which are actually a starter and can be ordered with meat, were good. They come with pico de gallo, queso fresco, chipotle crema and cabbage. Unfortunately, the polenta stack had little taste and a lot of cheese. The house salad with cilantro dressing was ok. The service was excellent!!!

“Incredible food!”

This place has amazing food (European in style), massive portions, reasonably priced, friendly staff. What more could you ask for?
