Majestic View Lodge

Our family (hubby plus 2 sons) stayed here in April while visiting Zion for 4 days. The park is spectacular!!! The hotel is outside the town of Springdale proper by a few miles so you can't walk out to dinner which was really the only negative.
Our room was clean and spacious and the restaurant they served breakfast in had amazing views. Pool area was a big plus for the kids at the end of long hiking days.

The hotel is right on the bus route for the park so every morning we just crossed the street and hopped onto the bus --they come frequently--and headed to the park. If you're in decent shape hike Observation Point, it's unbelievable and was a highlight of our trip to Utah.

the location is beautiful.. Zion mountain views. Room is what the pictures are.We were at a company retreat for 3 days and 2 nights. We had a breakfast buffet that was on time and good. we also had lunch twice and the service was exceptional and the food very good. i was a little susprised that they did not have soup on the menu as it was cool weather. Wiil be coming back i am sure.

Room Tip: Corner room was very nice #101

The Majestic View Lodge is a large sprawling hotel on the outskirts of Springdale - convenient for visiting Zion National Park.
On the negative side, they won't let you check in before 4pm which is tedious if want to get rid of your cases before entering the park. Also if you get a room upstairs, there's 2 flights of stairs to carry your cases up (not a problem for some, but our cases weighed a ton!)
The cleaning's spasmodic, but not too bad.
On the plus side it has the most amazing view (as the name suggests).

We were with an organised bus tour of the canyons and stayed here for two nights.
Our bedroom (109) was rustic in appearance but adequate for our needs. There was an outer patio but high foliage somewhat obstructs a lovely view. The other slight downside is the proximity of this wing to the highway and that gave a certain amount of traffic noise but this was not terrible. Breakfast was average but the evening meals were OK with exception of an overcooked salmon. There is a regular free shuttle bus from outside the hotel to the entrance of Zion National park with plenty of stops in Springfield if desired. The mini hotel animal museum is worth a look and is well laid out. We found the staff helpful and accommodating. The swimming pool seemed heated from natural sun and was chilly - but the hot tub was - hot! Views from the hotel - or anywhere in this area are stunning - a definite WOW factor. The park is just awesome and we could easily spend a week here. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Request a n upper floor in a block away from the main road.

Situated just outside Springdale and only a 5 minute drive from Zion National Park. We had a family room with 2 queen beds. Compact but suited our needs. Beautiful balcony with views of the stunning scenery although by a main road so noise of passing cars marred the tranquility. Heated swimming pool with lovely views and jacuzzi - perfect to relax in after a long day hiking. Would recommend.

Yes, the view at this hotel is majestic but so is the view at every other hotel (and restaurant) on the outskirts of Zion National Park. But this hotel has very low quality standards. First, the bed linens are in sorry (read over washed) shape. Plus our king sized bed had just three rather old pillows. Not even an extra hidden in the closet. Worst of all is the housekeeping. On the second nite of our stay I had to call the front desk to request a few things not done by the maid. On the third day the maid had made the bed but left the bathroom totally untouched. I had to call again for towels (oh, yes, they only give you two bath towels!) even after leaving our "dirties" on the floor. Nothing had Been touched in the bathroom as evidenced by the empty toilet tissue spool I had left and more! Oh, about vacuuming the rug ... Again I had to make a special request on our third day as it had not Ben done since our arrival. And here is what I found most egregious ... After the very little the maid did in our room she left behind her master door key on the nightstand. A less honest person could have "raided" every other room. Talk about very very lax security!

We were so happy to be able to stay another night in Springdale to see more of Zion, and happy this Lodge was available. Very cute rustic décor, but thin walls, could hear everything next door. It had a nice balcony with great view. But really the view is everywhere in Springdale.

However, it was located at the very end of Springdale, at the end of the town. It was the furthest motel from Zion. Must take shuttle or personal car to town to dine or shop.

The décor was cute with slatted wood blinds, but they didn't cover the windows completely. Weird and not too private. The sunlight came through all around the windows in the morning waking us up, ugh, not really what you want when you're on vacation.
