I don't normally comment on motel chains but this one deserves it. It's new (9 months old), well-chosen architecture, good-size lobby with photos of Zion and an enviable location. Whether your room faces the street or away from it you have those huge multi-hued sandstone cliffs in front of you. It's about a mile to the park, close to a (free) tram stop to the park and back, walking distance to a slue of popular restaurants; you couldn't ask for more.
The rooms are large and clean. There is a pool with Jacuzzi. The staff is friendly. Lots of parking space.
Breakfast is average with a couple of hot items (waffle, egg-MacMuffin).
Caution: End of September is still high season in Springdale and prices reflect it. We have been to Zion before and were looking to stay again in one of the lodges in town. All were sold out till mid-October. We found La Quinta on the internet. Did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. We paid $149 (+ tax) for the room, including weekend. I believe this compares favorably with the prices of some of the other establishments in town.
Would definitely go there again.
