My husband and I rented equipment there for the Zion Narrows hike. It was really easy and went smoothly and I wouldn't suggest hiking without rented shoes and a sturdy hiking stick. We also did the 1/2 day canyoneering tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and taught us a lot about the rigging and safety. We went canyoneering in Moab last year, and this was more challenging terrain - we pushed ourselves more. We did a little free-climbing. Our guide also gave us tips about other off-the-beaten path hikes that we ended up doing and those were great. My husband didn't bring a jacket and they leant him a fleece. Highly recommended.
