“Where's the curry house?”
Reviewed July 21, 2012 via mobile

The very first thing that hits you on entering the reception is the pungent stench of curry. This is the only place so far on our 2000mile road trip that has refused to take US military ID as an acceptable form of identification. The room seemed clean, but the bed linen was old, as was the furniture. I accept that we were in the middle of a National Park, but it is never nice to find bugs in your room. The breakfast the following morning was the worst I have ever experienced - to be fair, it would have been better if they hadn't offered a breakfast! The couple of bagels and bread were still in their bags, no utensils to remove them, there was no butter and only bottled jelly. The choice of fruity loops or plain Cheerios would have been fine if there'd been sufficient milk. Finally, my room key had the LaQuinta logo - I've stayed at afew LaQuintas and although they can be a bit rough, there's no way this was up to that level!

We were allowed to check in way ahead of time and have full use of the facilities. The room was spacious and clean, also the bathroom including shower. Breakfast is standard US Motel breakfast. The Motel isn't new anymore, but well kept up. The staff was very friendly, nice and accomodating. We would stay here again.

Our family's experience with this lodge was a very positive one despite what other reviewers have posted. We arrived in Springdale without a reservation. My husband went into to the lodge to inquire about a room and he was immediately shown a 2 bedroom suite that suited our needs perfectly. The room was clean without any indications of the bug infestations that have been mentioned in the previous reviews. The location was excellent with easy access to the Zion park shuttle, shopping and restaurants. It is an older building and we were aware not to expect 5 star accommodations. We had a hot shower, plenty of linens, and a quiet air conditioner. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if we get the chance to return to Zion National Park.

Very disappointing especially when you consider the rate is 85$/night for the king size room.
We found and have been bitten by bed bugs ! The room looks old and not well maintenained for example the painting is cracking, the tilling is boken in the bath room, bathroom items are mixed as if gathered from different hotels.
Once we found out about the bed bugs we have waken up the manager, he wanted to see by himself then offered an other room (downgrading us) without any reimboursement or offer of any kind, actually even no apologies for the horrible night we had.

The breakfast is disappointing too, you have to take it a very hot small space on the lobby. the tables are dirty with the remaining of previous guests breakfast, the toaster is dirty as well the food (bagels or toasts) is not great, the orange joice was just not drinkable (the machine was leaking and there was water all over the floor, so that the orange juice serving was extremely acid with a chemical taste).

It was the second time we stay at this hotel, the first night one week earlier was ok that's why we decised to stay there again but we will never go back ever again and recommend to avoid it at all price.

Don't believe what you read - see for yourself. We had a fantastic experience in Terrace Brook Lodge in Springdale, UT. The rooms are very good and clean with in this price range. and the staffs are very cordial and helpful. It is very unlikely that you will get a better optimization between amenities, and price in such a good location in Zion national Park. The view from the hotel is an added advantage.

It's about expectations. Yes, this hotel is older and has some run down facilities. However, we found the room clean and the grounds well kept. Nicer hotels in Springdale cost much more. If travelers want a more high end experience, don't stay here. If you want the most affordable room right outside Zion National Park, Terrace Brook Lodge is fine. There is an excellent supermarket right across the street from the hotel.

We rented the 3-bedroom cottage because we had a large group. The place had two bathrooms. The back bathroom faucet did not work, the toilet did not flush, and the shower only dripped water. It wasn't even possible to use that bathroom at all. Also saw several spiders and dead bugs on the floor.
The main concern was the large crack in the building that went from one side all the way to the other. The building seemed to be unlevel and literally falling apart.
The air conditioner wasn't working properly during the day. It was extremely hot in the "cottage". Also we were suppose to have an extra cot for a child to sleep on. The cot consisted of an old, dirty mattress on the floor.
The free breakfast consisted of bagels, donuts, and cereal. The grape jelly for the bagels expired in 2011.
Only good thing about this place was the location.
