3rd night in the area. We had learned that eating out here was quite costly, so were past sticker shock.
We had met the owners on the Zions shuttle that afternoon when the area power went out. We chatted, found our paths had crossed years before in a far off place. They said they were locals and had a restaurant. We had to ask what it was. When it came time for dinner we decided to give this place a try even though the B&B owner hadn't mentioned it.
The atmosphere was very casual, relaxed, which was nice as we were still in our hiking garb. Cheerfulness all around. The waitress was quick and friendly with great recommendations. She suggested the meatloaf and trout. I like fish and it looked intriguing but was wary of bones, heads, etc. She assured me it was all good. Good? It was fantastic. Not a bone was found. Wonderful flavor. Hubby really liked his Meatloaf, too, and he doesn't care for burger at all. Great meal. We were so pleased that we ordered dessert which we NEVER do. 1 yummy cobbler big enough to share.
I think it was my favorite dining experience the entire week in Springdale. I needed something simple. Others were good, too, but this suited me. Someone earlier mentioned a "Dennys" feel. Maybe to them, but I refuse to eat at Dennys now that we don't have little kids on vacation, and never did like to. This was far better.
