Great ~ lots of information about where to go, how much time it each place will take to get to, difficulty, etc.

The staff at the visitor centre were very helpful. As a result of their advice we planned some hikes and swims that were perfectly matched to our itinerary. Our family includes 3 kids aged 7, 10 and 13, all of whom like a hike of moderate intensity and length. The recommendation to hike to Columbia rock one day, then go to Sentinel Dome the next day, was absolutely perfect. The hikes take a few hours, are not excessively strenuous, and the views are amazing.

Be sure to spend some time here to learn about the history and natural wonders of Yosemite. The rangers are also very helpful.

We stopped at the Valley Visitor Center after arriving in Yosemite. We couldn't believe it was such a small/dinky visitor center for such a large popular park.
There was of course a line to ask any questions & too many people to want to stick around & see what the VC had to offer. So after we asked our question we quickly moved on.
Make sure to do all of your research before you come to the park because it could take you a while to get any information here.
