The trees were magnificent and well worth seeing but more of a hassle than we had anticipated. There wasn't much parking, the trails were crowded and it was an up hill walk of 2+ miles to see the whole sight. Honestly, as two young people with Arthritis, we gave up halfway through and walked back to the car.

Truly unique and beautiful. A great photo opportunity.
The trail to the giant sequoias was wide and very accessible.

We had to park at Wawona and take the shuttle, it was our forst day and we had slept late after a long drive from San Francisco.
The shuttle was problem free and we opted to walk around ourselves rather than take the tram.
Once we got away from the Inner Loop we could have been on our own, there was just us up at the Wawona viewpoint.
The trees themselves are the stars, even those which have fallen still amaze.
Get there early if you want to park there and keep going to the Outer Loop to escape the crowds.

I visited the mariposa Grove yesterday. I took the tram tour. The views were spectacular and the sequoia trees are impressive. There was narration along the way to give history on the trees. I recommend visiting this area when in park.

Amazing! The trees are huge. Easy to walk through. Not much parking on site---you will more than likely need to take the shuttle.
