The grove is such an tranquil and peaceful place. The trees are enormous and it's easy to walk on the trails through the woods.

“Worth the trip there any day!”

Not only was Mariposa Grove amazing, but everywhere we went in Yosemite National Park was amazing. The grove was phenomenal though. You will feel very small beside these giants!

“It Never Gets Old”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2013

The Mariposa Big Grove is jaw-dropping in beauty. You can leisurely stroll thru beautiful forrest to get to "the trees"- stay as long as you'd like or make just a short trip here. It is peaceful and while of course there are other people there, you can experience it "just yourself."

While a fee is noted below, that is the fee to get into Yosemite National Park - there is NO additional fee for the Grove.

You can also take a tram tour for a fee.

There is limited parking in this area. If this parking area becomes full, then you park in the Wawona area and shuttle buses transport people.

And. . .while I enjoyed it by myself - you can enjoy it as a couple, as a family or with friends!

You could spend as little as an hour - or several hours - you choice.

Seasonal attraction - It is NOT open all year due to snow - so . . open late spring (?)/early summer until snow (late fall?)

“An oasis of peace and tranquility”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

The car park can be very busy and you might need to go around again. Its very quiet and peaceful while walking through the well marked trails. There is transport available if walking is difficult but walking is best. There are lots of photo opportunities and it is very quiet and peaceful. Keep an eye out for the small squirrels scampering about gnawing at the pines cones.

“A rare beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

Trees over 2000 years old and close to 100 feet around! It's a very easy hike to get to see all the trees but you can still get a sense of the size from the parking lot. A truly must not miss when you visit Yosemite!!
