“Soooooo Nice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

As a hungry backpacker, nothing could be better. After a long day on the trail, what an exquisite pleasure to go to the White Wolf Lodge. We stayed in one of the wonderful canvas tents (equipped with beds, linens, blankets, pillows, a table, chairs and a wood stove to chase away the chill in the morning) and ate at the lodge for both dinner & breakfast. The food was PERFECT! Dinner is served home-style and goes around your table in huge platters. There were 5 courses including HOME MADE bread, salad, soup, entree and dessert, which when we were there, was authentic New York Cheesecake. Okay - any backpacker knows that if you ever put hiking and cheesecake together, you've surely died and gone to heaven. The home made soup and the salad were excellent too, and the main course, for us it was creamy chicken linguini, was nothing less than amazing. In the morning, the buffet style breakfast included home made whole wheat pancakes - so lovely. Each meal was a bit pricey, and to stay over you need to book as far in advance as possible, up to a year, which isn't too early. For dining, you'll probably be able to get a table if you're willing to wait for an opening (especially on a peak summer season weekend), but reservations are strongly recommended. We were in Yosemite for several nights and ate at several places including Curry Village and the lodge at Wawona, and the fare at White Wolf was absolutely the best. No question. It's a rare treat indeed.

“Family style eating at 8000'”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

Food is served family style at this quiet restaurant, giving you a chance to chat with other travelers and compare notes. Good quality food, fresh ingredients and plenty of it. Our server offered everyone additional bowls of soup, salad and sourdough bread. The menu is fixed, so you don't get a lot of choice, but you can choose just soup & salad or the full meal. The red velvet cake was delicious.

“"Fancy"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

This is a great place for dinner that you wouldn't expect in a National Park. Upscale so it will cost a lot more than a hot dog and chips. It was worth the trip over from Curry Village.

“Show up for the breakfast.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

The buffet style breakfast at the restaurant is well worth the money. There are not a lot of dining options and prices are steep for food in general in the park, but the breakfasts here offered a huge variety of healthy foods and will keep you satisfied for quite a few hours. The fresh fruit salad had huge blackberries, raspberries and mangos. The scrambled eggs were excellent one day and not so great the next. Quality and taste may vary depending on who is cooking that day, but there are plenty of other options if one item is not especially appealing.

“Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2010

The breakfast buffet at White Wolf is a nice blend of great food in a unique setting. Think about the porches in Mayberry with a view of the mountains. Most of the clientele are staying at this High Sierra Camp, but it is a nice stop if you are driving through the Northern part of Yosemite on Tioga Road.

Serve yourself buffet offers better food than you would expect - eggs, waffles and really good coffee. Full dinner menu - including vegetarian choices.

Friendly and accommodating staff and fellow travelers willing to share their secret "finds" in the park. Well marked gravel road (not too far) takes you there from the western end of Tioga Road.

Note: not open in winter
