our family has been visiting Yosemite national park for decades. we always make a point to dine at the ahwahnee dining room.
first, I would recommend making reservations. we always have, and from what I hear they can be filled to capacity at times.
second, the food is not spectacular, and the meals seem a bit pricey. but if you have been camping for several days, dining indoors with hot prepared food is a treat.
third, what makes the whole experience is the beauty and grandeur of the dining hall. it was built in 1926, opened in 1927, and has a long history. the windows and lighting are nice. we always try to go early in the evening so we can see the scenery as we dine before the sun sets.
