I have hiked the long hike to the top of Yosemite falls 5 times, it's a work out but worth it, being able to look over the edge and see the hotel and everything else in the valley is amazing. I am afraid of heights but the only place I felt woozy was when I looked over the falls. You get beautiful photos from up that high as well. I am not talking about the handicap cable look out at the bottom of Yosemite falls, which is also pretty but very easy.

If you stay at Yosemite Lodge at the Falls, you can walk right over to Lower Yosemite Falls. It's a very easy walk to the lower falls; a 3-hour hike to the upper falls. Although very cold, winter is a good time to go since there aren't many crowds.

From far away, you can't see any water since there hasn't been much rain. The good news is since the riverbed is dry, you can climb all over the river rocks. We climbed right up to the base of Lower Yosemite Falls to see the trickle of water coming down. It was such an amazing feeling being in the shadow of such a massive granite mountain. We also got a great view of Half Dome while the sun was setting.

If you stay at the Lodge, visit before 7am, you will have the falls to yourselves. Its magical to be alone in this area!

Great trip, it was worth to save for it. I would do it again in the future when I have kids. March is a good time of the year to visit California with awesome weather and not too crowded, especially if you like some peace and quiet when one enjoy the nature.

I've been to Yosemite twice but I've never been able to hike this trail. Lots of people walk up to lower Yosemite Falls (easy and quick walk up from the road) and take it all in. It's an amazing view.
