“Spectacular even in summer when there is little flow”
Reviewed February 25, 2013

Except to get soaked in May when the falls are at their best and prepare to yell over the roar! Even in summer, the view is incredible. Try the hire to the top but be prepared - it is steep but worth it.

“Stunning in Winter”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

Having never been in the park during the winter months, it was so beautiful to see all the ice at the base of the upper falls. The trees were bear allowing for some wonderful photography.

“WEt”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

The falls are at their best in the spring when the snow is melting but a spectacular sight during almost any time of the year. Take the trail and hike up as far as you can.

“Hard walk but worth the sweat”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

Yes its only 3.4 miles from the valley to the top of the 4th highest waterfall in the world but it is also 2700 ft! Its a nice clear path with great views on the way but the real joy is when you get down and look up and say "wow, I just walked to the top of that"

“Beautiful Year Round”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

The 4th highest waterfall(s) in the world is simply amazing any time of the year. Just spent Christmas in Yosemite and had a truly "White Christmas" as it began to snow Christmas day and continued until we departed.
I have hiked most of the trails in and around Yosemite and the Upeer falls trail is one of the most difficult. Switchbacks for miles and a sizeable elevation gain make this a challenging yet rewardable hike. The views from the observation area looking over the Valley floor and straight down the upper falls are amazing. Looking across the valley parallel to Half Dome is awesome. Something to do once in your life. Leave early ,5 A.M. as you will be exposed to the sun and elements and there is very little shade cover.
