Owner description: The fifth tallest waterfall in the world, Yosemite Falls is the centerpiece of Yosemite National Park.

The falls are at their best in the spring when the snow is melting but a spectacular sight during almost any time of the year. Take the trail and hike up as far as you can.

Yes its only 3.4 miles from the valley to the top of the 4th highest waterfall in the world but it is also 2700 ft! Its a nice clear path with great views on the way but the real joy is when you get down and look up and say "wow, I just walked to the top of that"

The 4th highest waterfall(s) in the world is simply amazing any time of the year. Just spent Christmas in Yosemite and had a truly "White Christmas" as it began to snow Christmas day and continued until we departed.
I have hiked most of the trails in and around Yosemite and the Upeer falls trail is one of the most difficult. Switchbacks for miles and a sizeable elevation gain make this a challenging yet rewardable hike. The views from the observation area looking over the Valley floor and straight down the upper falls are amazing. Looking across the valley parallel to Half Dome is awesome. Something to do once in your life. Leave early ,5 A.M. as you will be exposed to the sun and elements and there is very little shade cover.

I have lived within an easy drive from the park for most of my life. It looks different every single time I visit. One of my favorite vistas is from Glacier Point. My family loves seeing the view from one side of the valley to the other, the waterfalls, the peaks and pinnacles, to half dome and on and on.

I've seen the falls before in full spring fury. They're a little more muted in winter but perhaps even more attractive. They are ever changing. Early morning all the sides are frozen with lots of amazing icicles. At the day warms things change although the huge snow drift at the base of the first drop is always there. Highly recommended for a winter visit
