“A bit of Home in Yosemite Park”

Just returned from a trip to Yosemite. We chose to rent a vacation condo instead of a hotel room within the park. Important note: If coming to Yosemite, sleep within the park! The commute time getting back in is huge based on the distance and road configuration. Note this review is for shoulder season, not prime so traffic was light. So, the condo....Nice space and remodeled last year. first floor has a living area with gas fireplace, patio with grill, small but complete kitchen, and full bath. Fridge is in a small room behind the kitchen, five steps away. The kitchen is well outfitted including coffees and spices. Sofa is a sleeper, which we didn't open since we were just two. The primary sleeping area is a double queen loft space which includes the second full bathroom and a decent sized open air closet behind a wall. The beds were very comfortable and since the evenings are already cool this time of year just opening the screen door on the patio for an hour or two in the evening cooled the space down beautifully. In addition there are a few large floor fans to cool it in the warmer weather which it actually still was during our visit. Ceiling fan above the two queens as well. Third level was reached by a bunkbed-like ladder and contained a twin bed and the only windows. Still, based on the condo's loft design and the patio doors there is plenty of sunlight until dusk. Everything was very clean and orderly so we were very happy. Holly, the manager was always available by phone but we didn't need her once we arrived. We were very happy with the condo. Also has TV and DVD player. BTW, its closer to Yosemite Village than many of the hotels except for Yosemite Lodge and Ahwahanee. Way cheaper too. After Sept 1, buy two, get one night free. IMHO, only way to go in Yosemite. Just be aware that internet and phone service is spotty within the park. Thanks Holly!

“The pictures doesn't do it justice!”
Reviewed September 29, 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This condo is not what the pictures show! When we arrived, we were very disappointed! The carpeting was nasty, the screen door leading to the balcony didn't move, the screen in the loft was bent from the window. The entry door had gaps along the bottom and side. The kitchen wasn't a place I wanted to cook, the utensils in the drawers were pretty junky, a pan I took out was dirty! The tub and shower were totally disgusting. I put a towel in the tub before I showered. I contacted the property manager, Holly, I told her about the condo, she said she would send a maintenance man. A maintenance man would not be able to right all the wrongs here! We left after 1 of 3 nights we paid for. We couldn't stay there. I asked Holly if they rented it could she refund us, she would, I wasn't expecting it would. This property is like staying in a low rent apartment complex. I don't know why anybody would give it a good review!

Management Response
Nov 8, 2015
This review was completely exaggerated. I tried to make this guest happy but it was impossible. I inspected the condo after they left.. there was nothing wrong with my housekeepers cleaning. The screen door was fixed. I have repeat guests that request this condo because it is so comfortable :) Please don't take this review seriously. Thank you :)

“Great place , close to everything”
Reviewed July 6, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed here for 2 nights-we loved being able to cook/ BBQ our own food after weeks of traveling. The condo has 2 Queen/double beds on the same mezzanine floor , with a single bed in the loft above. There is also coin op laundry on site-bring enough coins -no change available. There is no curtain in the loft-privacy no issue but you are awake 5 am with light streaming in. There is also no A/C but fans are provided . If you leave. The balcony door open it does cool down at night-1night was hotter than the other which was a bit uncomfortable.
Make sure you only use the key pad to lock the door when leaving as if you lock from inside then close door you are locked out- luckily Holly was cleaning and was able to let us in.
The condo is well equiped with every thing and is easily accessible to all the attractions.
Would definitely stay here again.

“Would be good in winter!”
Reviewed July 2, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Good location with easy 30mins to valley floor or glacier point. The building has no air-con. There is only one window, on the 3rd level or the door to the balcony so although they provide fans there is very little way of getting air in to cool the place down.
Additionally, the gas fire pilot light is always on & creates a lot of heat. The place was like a sauna both day and night & the fans did nothing to cool the place down. Neither myself or my father got much sleep due to the heat.
It would be a great place to stay in the cooler months but I wouldn't come back to stay in summer.

“Great place to be”
Reviewed June 21, 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We had a great time (3 nights / 2 days) in Yosemite West Condo and would like to come back one time.
Even entertainment with bears around the building. Rangers came soon to chase them away. Great experience.
Combo fully equipped and clean, only WiFi didn't work in combo B204.
Thank you for two wonderful days.

“Paradise in Paridise”
Reviewed April 22, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Great vacation rental, "Paradise Chalet" in West Yosemite (Paradise), within boundaries of park, 30 minute drive to Yosemite village and major hiking trails. This place is immaculate, good size for up to 5 people, totally modern and well equipped. The kitchen appliances and cookware are top of the line. It even had a "smoothie" machine. Bedrooms were ample and very comfortable. Bathrooms had the amenities of a nice hotel. Place had remotes for climate and fan control. We felt right at home as soon as we unpacked.

“Good stay for the price.”

This property sleeps 7 but I think it would be difficult to live with 7. There is privacy only in the bathrooms. The kitchen is very small and would make cooking for a large group of people difficult. There were 3 of us and I felt we could only handle maybe one more person. The condo is stocked with plenty of comforts of home/ amenities but be aware that the wi-fi is pretty much non existent and there is no phone service. TV is great and there are puzzles and games. It is clean and the scenery is unbeatable. For us it sure beats tent camping. Note that Yosemite Village is 30 min away.
