“Second time we stayed here.”
Reviewed November 27, 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We first stayed here 4 years ago and returned this year. We love the huge high ceiling living room with lots of sofas and comfortable stuffed chairs for everyone. The room is lined with big view windows, a fireplace and a large screen TV.
The dining room table seats 12 comfortably. We brought in a table from the deck to seat 6 more. It’s next to the living room, one big open space that kept us all connected. Our king bed was very comfortable. Our bathroom had a huge corner tub with big bay windows. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. There are lots of extra towels for the hot tub and bathrooms. The large kitchen had everything we needed and more. We had our morning coffee at the breakfast nook watching the birds on the feeders by the deck.

“Comfortable, clean, secluded, close enough to visit Yosemite Park.”
Reviewed August 9, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We enjoyed our stay in this house. As long as you know that you are 45 minutes or so from the Park, you won't have any negative surprises. The house has plenty of room and is well appointed. Best hot tub I ever used. The decor and furniture is a little dated, but that should not surprise anyone looking for this kind of vacation spot. Renters were responsive when we had a problem with the TV - we ultimately worked out the solution ourselves, but they were willing to come out to help. We were very pleased with our rental.

Hello Lyn,

Glad you enjoyed your stay. I'm not sure what happened with the Blu-ray player, it refused to stay off and would take over the TV volume, I'm gueesung someone turned on the smart TV feature, but brands are not the same. Updating the firmware did the trick, and now it turns off when told so. We hope to have you back,
Kim & Keith

“Amazing house/amazing location ”
Reviewed March 18, 2016 for a stay in April 2015

We stayed at this house last year and we had an amazing experience. The house is very well maintained, clean, and cozy. The location makes this house even better, since it's kind of hidden when you drive up the driveway, which gives guests more privacy. The hot tub is in a perfect location, overlooking the forest...I couldn't have imagined staying in a better house, I absolutely loved it and I plan on returning this April :)

“Nice house, average stay, few issues”
Reviewed December 4, 2015 for a stay in November 2015

My family and I rented this location for Thanksgiving weekend. We were very excited to stay here due to its size (we were a group of 15) and its proximity to Yosemite National Park. When we arrived, it was extremely cold inside (temperatures averaged mid 30s during our stay) so we followed the instructions to turn the heat on. The vents, while working, were only expelling cold air and making it even colder inside.

Later, the issues continued. There was no hot water on our first night, the only water coming out from the faucets was freezing cold. We checked the boiler downstairs and it was off. When we contacted the owners they informed us that is was an automatic boiler so they did not know why this was happening. The second day, there was hot water and it was not an issue for the rest of our stay.

There was also a leak in the bathroom and it wet the carpet in the hallway during the night. We contacted the owners and they sent someone over to fix the leak and check on the heat, even though that person was not a heat expert they had no choice since their usual guy was on vacation. The leak was fixed but the heat still did not work. The heat did not work for the remainder of our stay and we had to wear pretty much all of our clothing to stay warm, the little kids and some adults got sick as a result of such temperatures inside.

Finally, I would advise the owners to really have a talk with their cleaning people. The house was not clean. It is one thing to have things organized and in their place and a whole different thing to have things clean. The wood floor was so filthy that we ended up passing some rags over it and had them turn out black from how dirty it was. The towels and blankets all had small white hairs (as if from pets) all over them and we had to wash everything before we could use it. Everything was really dusty and overall I would rate the cleanliness a 1/5.

I understand that the house is old but 1) you should have your cleaning people do a better job and 2) you should ensure that essential amenities based on the season (i.e. the heat during the winter) are working.

We apologize for the forced air heater electronic starter failing on Thanksgiving Day, and the heater contractor being out of town for the holiday, but we do have some issues with the rest of your review. Everything was fine at the house the day before your arrival. The thermostat is wifi, we can monitor remotely, and showed the temperature in the house was between 58F and 64F during your stay, not in the 30s as claimed. The two bathroom heaters you kept on seem to do a decent job, but we acknowledge 58F to 64F is not adequate. The electronic starter has been replaced, and the main heater is back in good working order. The hot water heater was on prior to your arrival, and the security system shows no one entering the house between the previous guests and cleaning crew leaving Wednesday, and your arrival Thursday. I suspect that someone in your party turned it off while trying to get the heater working. The valves in the bathroom sink had been turned from their fully ?on? position, which caused the leak, which I?m guessing someone in your party tried after they turned off the water heater, but someone did turn them after your arrival. The valves have now been replaced in case future guests want to play with them while turning the water heater on and off. The wood floor was clean the day before you arrived, and I could find no evidence of any black stuff in cracks or on molding or anywhere after you left. I could also not find any appreciable dust, including on top of the ceiling fan blades through out the house that only get periodic dusting, We also have not had any guests with pets for months, no other comments about pet hair from other guests, and also could find no evidence small white hairs after your stay. We again apologize for the unfortunate timing of the house heater having an issue on a holiday weekend, but will give your review 1/5 for accuracy.

Big place with lots of room. Very comfortable and reasonably close to Yosemite National Park. Very quiet with lots of deer and turkeys in the front yard daily.

“A lot of room”
Reviewed July 21, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

There were six of us and we had more room than we needed. The drive to the park was over an hour but the only other choice was to stay in the park and we did not want to stay at a hotel or a tent. Hot tub was great after a long day of hiking.
