Not as crowded as other ski areas, not as intense either. This is good for boarders and skiiers, and the ski patrol was very nice to my wife when she sprained her knee.

This place is a great family oriented ski resort that's staffed with helpful people (let alone all the HOT eye candy you see while up there).

My grandparents live outside of Yosemite, so my family frequently spends Christmas in the area. Most years we head up to Badger for a day of skiing. The prices aren't bad when compared to the slopes in the more typical ski areas. But then again, you don't get anywhere near the number of slopes or challenge.

The slopes are fairly easy, and short. They offer lessons, although I can't speak to the quality of them. This is a great area for beginner skiers, or those who aren't overly confident (and for the record, I count myself in that category). However, the rest of my family are seriously skilled when it comes to skiing, and the consensus is that this isn't the place to come if you are looking for a challenge.

If you are comfortable bringing a camera with you, you can get some truly amazing shots from the tops of the slopes.

A few words of warning: in the winter, you MUST have either a four wheel drive car or chains on your tires to get to Badger. Please take that requirement seriously. I cannot tell you have many cars I have seen who end up stuck, or sliding because they think this rule shouldn't apply to them.

Also, be ware of the tours that come through here. I've yet to figure out how to successfully avoid them, but if a tour bus unloads in front of you, you are going to be waiting a very, very long time to get your lift tickets. Even worse if you need to rent equipment.
