My wife and I stayed here for one night last summer, before the Hanta virus news broke and around the timeframe in which it was in effect. Thankfully, we evaded it, possibly due to staying in a Cabin (i.e. *not* the Tent Cabin).
The cabin was fine, with two beds, two bedside tables, a dresser and a chair. Nothing too fancy or spacious, but you're only really in your cabin in the evening before going to sleep. Our cabin was nextdoor to the showers and toilets which came in handy when taking a nighttime visit to the toilet - less danger of running into a bear! They do however have enforced security in the form of having to enter a four-digit code to gain access, This is good, although remembering the code in the middle of the night requires you to wake up a bit more before entering.
The parking lot was also nearby our cabin and subsequently, so was the Curry Village centre. This was also fine, with some venues to eat at, a small supermarket to pick up some supplies and a type of "rec room" area where you can sit and eat a snack, relax on the couches, play some board games and - not unimportant - use the free WiFi ;-) Checking in and checking out went smoothly at the front desk which is also located in this centre.
Driving or hiking to several of the sights nearby in Yosemite Valley is easy from Curry Village as nothing is really that far away. The biggest complaint I have would be the traffic if you choose do get from point A to B in the car... it's more like a big city than being in the middle of the wilderness as you can rarely go faster than a snail's pace and are always looking at another car's rear while doing so. This also makes parking along the hiking trails very time-consuming as a free spot is rare.
From Curry Village you also have nice views of the Half Dome and Sentinel Dome, which are especially spectacular during sunset!
All in all, this is a great place to stay if you want to be "in the thick of it", but mind you, you'll be *far* from the only one doing so.
