Had a fantastic four day adventure that incorporated popular spots but also quiet camping locations away from the crowds. Lasting Adventures take all the hassle out of a trip that meant I could simply turn up with light hiking gear from Australia. Our guide was responsive to the needs of everyone within the Group and was willing to change the route and schedule based on our feedback. The peaks we hiked were visually fantastic.
Trying to do this on your own as a traveller from overseas would be impossible. Hiking permits, camping permits and permits to hike half dome are all required - plus the guides organise all the food, water resupply and filtering, cooking, tents, sleeping mats, eating gear etc. They take the hassle out of backpacking whilst keeping in all the fun parts.

Highlights were the three peaks and stunning scenery, swimming in crystal clear mountain lakes and the varied and interesting wildlife.

Tips for future travellers, make sure you have room in your pack for the bear canisters for food - they are pretty big and I hadn't experienced them before! Don't bother trying to catch public transport to and from the park, renting a car is required. Add in time before or after your tour to visit the giant Sequoia trees at the edge of the park, they are well worth the visit. Driving from San Fran takes about 4 hours and LA 6 hours.

Finally - it's backpacking, it's meant to be a workout and you carry a big pack with all your gear plus shared supplies like food and cooking equipment. If you expect someone to carry all your gear and have a rest every five minutes this tour is not for you.

Loved it and highly recommend the company as a fantastic way to experience Yosemite National Park.

My daughter shared that she had a rough time - but all of her guides said she did a fantastic job. When I saw her at pick-up, she was all smiles. She said she was sore and tired, but she told stories the whole way home - 3+ hours of stories. Then I overheard her recounting her experience with friends. She said if she ever goes back, she will start preparing in advance because she wasn't prepared for the heaviness of the backpack. Great summer experience for a teenager!

I attended a week-long summer youth trip. The counselors were encouraging, knowlable and ensured that we were safe. It was great meeting kids my age and everyone was very nice. The views were beautiful, but the hike was strenuous. We climbed 2 summits: Cloud's rest and half dome. It was definitly worth it. I had a ton of fun.

Went on an 8 hour tour with Scott and our family of six. Kids ages 15,12,8 and 5. Scott was fantastic. He's extremely knowledgeable about the history of the park and made it interesting for everyone in our family. Spent time in secret caves, hiking in the valley and up on Glacier point. I wish we had thought ahead and got passes for the Half Dome hike. Maybe next time.

Scott is the best. ON time and very informative on the area and the hike and the park. We ran out of bars and he pitched us some of his. Couldn't of asked for a better guide. We both felt safe and never a worry the entire trip... A must for your next rip to Yosemite.
