Went on an 8 hour tour with Scott and our family of six. Kids ages 15,12,8 and 5. Scott was fantastic. He's extremely knowledgeable about the history of the park and made it interesting for everyone in our family. Spent time in secret caves, hiking in the valley and up on Glacier point. I wish we had thought ahead and got passes for the Half Dome hike. Maybe next time.

Scott is the best. ON time and very informative on the area and the hike and the park. We ran out of bars and he pitched us some of his. Couldn't of asked for a better guide. We both felt safe and never a worry the entire trip... A must for your next rip to Yosemite.

We had an amazing 5 day backpacking trip with Lasting Adventures. We hiked the 3 summits/3 sunrises trip. It is a very strenuous trip. We have hiked countless times before, but never backpacked. Living near Dallas, the options are very limited. We were a little concerned about conditioning for the trip, but we were pleasantly surprised that we had no issues. The hiking and scenery were amazing! We have traveled to many beautiful places like Galapagos, Costa Rica, Europe, Kauai, and in all honesty this trip ranks up as one of our favorites. We have a huge sense of accomplishment.
We booked the trip as private, just my husband and myself and we had a guide and a junior guide that led us. We were a little surprised at first that our guide was only 21, but he was amazing. He was probably carrying about 80 pounds on his back most of the trip. It was so nice having a guide to take care of all the details. There were many places we went that we would have never found the trail. He cooked all of our meals and they were delicious. Having a guide made the trip so much easier. The guides knew so much information about the park, the trails, camp sites, water locations, and survival in the woods that we were clueless about. We did see bears up close and personal and I probably would have completely freaked out if the guides hadn't prepared us. I also would have probably been too scared to climb and descend the peaks that we climbed if the guides hadn't been leading the way.
Some humble advice: TRAIN! We started lifting weights to build up our arms and the half dome cables were actually one of the easier parts of the trip. We made it up the cable part in 10 minutes and that included having to stop to let people pass coming down. The best training we did was go to parking garages and climb the stairs carrying heavy packs. It sounds crazy, but I think that is what got us in the best shape. We had a little altitude related heavy breathing the first day,but no sore muscles, blisters... the training definitely made it an enjoyable trip. And also we did not take our kids. My kids are 19 and 14 and I would have been scared for their safety on the hikes and not been able to enjoy myself as much. Kids do the hikes; lasting adventures has camps that have kids ages 11-17 doing the trip we did. But for me personally, it would have been a completely unrelaxing trip if my kids were along. Yes, people have died on the peaks and trails we went on. It was much more easier just worrying about my own survival!
As inexperienced backpackers from Dallas, Lasting Adventures made the trip for us. Many times the guides provided valuable information to experienced hikers we encountered along the way. They know Yosemite. I would definitely book again with Lasting Adventures, maybe an easier trip that we can enjoy with our kids.

This was a very long and intense hike but well worth the effort.
Scott, our guide was very supportive and full of knowledge about
the Yosemite Park. I liked the fact the this organization is a non-profit,
and how much they are involved with the youth of America.

The owner of Lasting Adventures managed to make our private tour happen although it was out of season. That was the first thing we were excited about.
We did the "Yosemite Falls" tour and it was absolutely fantastic! It was very exhausting but the views were stunning and totally worth it. Besides our guide Christina and her husband (who's also a guide at Lasting Adventures) were so lovely and helped us a lot when we felt we couldn‘t make it. Also they told us a lot of interesting facts about the parks nature and its history. We had a great time with them!
