All that is missing as one drives up to The House That Ruza Build are the memories that will be made!
Everything else is supplied!
Our memories were made viewing out of the level one deck and the level two deck as starters...
Super nice Hot Tub on bottom deck, and a fire up the Weber gas grille
to ready, set, eat on the top deck!
With a view on both of a Sequoia Grove out-shown by a Giant 500-year old just out of arm’s reach!
The houses’ interior has more features than one would expect
Or even hope for...so nicely appointed. So new appearing. It’s the little things that assure “This is our blank slate, all ready for us to make our Memories”. Wow!
You’ve arrived at The House That Ruza Built”.
Forget Your Troubles and Just Get Happy! We did!
During our stay, a snow storm dropped over 2 feet of snow. We were truly in a winter wonderland! It snowed, the wind blew, it snowed some more, the sun came out, and it snowed some more! Even though we were snowed in for a few days, and the temperatures dropped into the low 20's, we were toasty warm with the gas fireplace and the hot tub which was always warm and waiting for us. And through the storm, we had excellent internet service and the speed was phenomenal. I work remotely and had no interruption of service and uploading and downloading my 100 meg files was not an issue. I look forward to a return visit in the late summer or fall.
As a Native Californian, words alone cannot describe the instantaneous feeling one gets when walking into the House That Ruza Built. Breathtaking is an understatement! As a first grade teacher who dreams of tree houses, this God's Gift of a Cabin is the answer to a tree house dream. As they say, "Home is where the heart is," and this house sure has a genuine heart. Every detail was created with love, loyalty, passion and the love for God's Country. This house is underestimated in the photos. It is A MILLION TIMES GREATER THAN what you expect when walking into this incredible getaway. I am a meticulous neat fanatic and you can eat off the floors here it is so clean. The host, Scott...that is a whole different ball game! What a guy! He loves life, loves beautiful Yosemite, and most importantly, loves his mom RUZA, the best! I will DEFINITELY be back here This house is a truly unique and a blessing to stay in. By the way, Scott has everything and anything that you could ever imagine stocked and ready to go! THE BEST HOUSE in Fish Camp as far as I am concerned. I WAS NOT PAID TO SAY ANY OF THIS! LOL! This is my first review on night one. Please continue as I will be reviewing again. Stepping into the hot tub under the stars now!
This was my second time renting this home, but it was my first time with children. My family and I stayed in this cozy beautiful house this past weekend. I brought my 11 month old baby and my sister brought her children and we couldn't be any more pleased on how neat and organized this house is. They all felt so comfortable despite being a few hundred miles away from home. The living room is so spacious it allowed my baby to walk around freely now that she is learning how to walk. Aside from being an incredible house, we thought it was very convenient that the entrance to Yosemite National Park was just a few minutes away. Thank you Scott for providing very detailed and important information about the house.
It's a perfect balance between a base for exploring Yosemite (3 mi. from park entrance) and being a bit off the beaten track during peak tourist season. Stone's throw from Tenaya Lodge for drinks and dining, or better yet ... fire up the BBQ, sit on the back deck with a cold beverage and contemplate the magnificent, 250-foot Redwood just behind the house.
We had 9 for part of our stay here and never felt like we were in each other's laps -- there's a lot of room and separation between parts of the house. Built about 10 years ago, everything is spotlessly clean and kept to the highest standard by the owner.
Bottom line: Can't recommend this place highly enough!
This house is so close to yosemite! It was almost like staying in the park but with all the comforts and space of a home. Very clean, very comfortable.
Scott's home is the perfect location if you want to visit Yosemite. The South Entrance is just a few miles up the road. We spent a spectacular day in the park. The evenings were spent barbecuing and star gazing. His home was immaculate. The kitchen was well equipped. There were only two of us but lots of room for a large family or two. Next time we want to visit in the winter and experience all that the snow has to offer. Lots of love and care envelopes The House That Ruza Built!
