“We had a fantastic time!”
Reviewed February 19, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

The house was wonderful. We were greeted every morning by a deer which was so great to see. We had a total of 4 adults and 6 kids. Plenty of space for everyone! The kids loved the pool table, ping pong table and foosball, not to mention all the choices of movies and books. The walk around the neighborhood was nice, the general store had all the items you could need, and we were only 30-45 min from the major sights to see (i.e. El Capitan, Half Dome, beautiful waterfalls. Not but 2 minutes away was a pullover at a river where we hung out for quite some time. It was a wonderful vacation!

Liked best: The home, the view, the area.
Liked least: I would change the mattress in the queen bed upstairs and new cooking pans cause they burn easily.

“41R was a peaceful and comfortable place to stay.”
Reviewed June 2, 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Our family of five enjoyed this home the last week of May 2013. The home was very comfortable and felt like we were at the home of a friend or relative. My husband and I traveled with our three children ages 18,15,and 11. We had plenty of room to spread out. I was happy to have a full size washer/dryer since we go through clothes quickly. Our stay was in the middle of a driving trip from Las Vegas to Death Valley to Sequoia to Yosemite to San Francisco over eight days. We are from New Orleans area and the mountain, out west experience was new to us. We appreciated the beauty of the National Parks and this was a wonderful place to stay. From the house we visited Glacier Point, The Yosemite Valley, Mariposa Grove, and a trail near the home that leads to a swinging bridge over a stream. We saw several wildflowers and the streams/water falls were active. We saw several deer, chipmunks, squirrels, and a coyote during our stay in Yosemite.

We arrived around 8 pm to the Redwoods office and there was an afterhours packet waiting for us. The packet outlined all of the information pertaining to the home with keys and a map to the home. The home was easy to find and very comfortable. We returned to the office the next morning to finish the check in. At that time, the staff member gave us the tip about the swinging bridge trail. That was as enjoyable as anything we saw in Yosemite because we were basically alone on the trail and at the bridge, We felt as if we had the place to our selves. The drive to the Valley was approximately 45 minutes from the house. The drive to Mariposa about 10-15 minutes. Glacier Point overlooks the entire Valley and was a great experience.

“Great home for a small wedding reception at Yosemite”
Reviewed June 13, 2011 for a stay in May 2011

My son and his fiancee wanted to get married in Yosemite at the Mariposa point, which is in the southern end of the park. Because it is about 1/2 hour to the closest motel, we decided to try to find something closer.
This vacation home has it all. We used the 3 bedrooms for our side of the family to stay in, and split the cost. Very cost effective. The house is big and we didn't run into each other.
Because it was muddy at Mariposa Point, on the wedding day, the ceremony was conducted in front of the Fireplace in the living room. There was plenty of room for all 13 of us. We even were able to dance, when we moved the furniture back. The living room also has a big screen TV.

The dining room has a table that will accomodate 10, and we rented another 5 ft. table to add to the end to accomodate the other guests. There was plenty of room. There is a rental company in clovis that I got all of my dishes, tablecloths, silverware, etc. for the wedding reception. We cooked. No caterers in the area want to cater for such a small group.
The kitchen was great and you can tell the owners want this to be a top notch place.

We ate outside on one of the decks. (there are two furnished decks) because we set up a buffet in the dining room, we just walked outside to eat. We had a dinner later in the dining room.

For fun, if you are not a hiker, there is a "new" foosball game upstairs next to a futon, that I think can be used as a bed. Also, there are alot of games and books.
In the garage, there is a ping pong table and a pool table set up and ready to use.
They also have a washer and dryer, which is a real plus, because we were there a week.

We rented from the Redwoods Management Co. When we had a question about the fans and the fireplace, in the living room, they were over right away to show us how to use them.

Make sure you bring food staples (salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil, etc., because there is NO food there. Shop at Vons in Oakhurst, before you come. There is a small market , near the house, on the way to the rental office (walking distance) which was very well stocked- for being in the middle of nowhere, and found everything we needed. Yosemite is big.

There are two bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom and they were both very nicely decorated. Alot of pictures and books on the area, from way back when.

It was very peaceful, and you could enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the "Blue Cardinal" really a Stellar Blue Jay, visiting his nest nearby. We even saw deer wandering by the road, in the meadow by the house. We were there in May so there was a little snow in parts of the park, but the waterfalls were beautiful, and the hiking was great. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the north end of the park. Mariposa grove is at the south end and has the big redwoods, it's closer to the house. The Wawona hotel has entertainment at night at the bar. We didn't have time, but will go next time.

Lots to do there-just not enough time.
Check with Redwoods for specials. We got an extra day free with a rental of 6 days.
It was a bit pricey, but if you split the cost, it is worth it.
