“Perfect Timing”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Our timing was perfect. We reached Yosemite Valley at midday with bright sunshine and 22 degrees Celsius (about 74 F) and were told that the Tioga Pass had been closed since the afternoon before due to snow. We enjoyed the afternoon in Yosemite as we had planned and when it was time to head off in the direction of Bishop the authorities reopened the road.
The dive is very scenic with many great views. For us Olmsted Point looking down the valley was the highlight.
After crossing the highest point on the road (3030m - 9945ft) at the eastern park gate the road takes a spectacular decent toward Mono Lake.
We travelled with a small private tour, Bundu Bashers, and our guide Jeff had the local knowledge to bring this trip to life. I can highly recommend Bundu Bashers tour from San Francisco to Las Vegas via Tioga Pass and Death Valley.

“A very scenic drive”
Reviewed October 1, 2013

Best part of the drive is within 10 miles west of Tuolumne Meadows starting at Olmsted Point right up to the eastern exit/entrance of the park and beyond. All viewpoints have pull ins.

“Visited every year of my life”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

The Tioga pass road happens to be m favorite journey and favorite road of all. I a a world traveler, and I return here to "replenish my soul". I stop often, photograph tiny wildflowers, towering boulders, and take short hikes in areas not listed in any park service book. This road has the most spectacular views of varying terrain and wonderful huge hunks of granite. On a summer day, take the time to stop and climb up a gently sloping mass of granite and lie in the sun. You'll never forget Tioga pass....just don't be in a hurry!

“picture perfect, scenic views”
Reviewed September 24, 2013

We made frequent stops at vista points to take in the spectacular views.
It was breath-taking and picture perfect in every direction. The air was fresh, crisp and invigorating. The smell of pine most was refreshing.
My adventurous dog scampered around the boulders excitedly whilst I tried to hang on to him.
Leash laws is strictly enforced. This is bear country.

If not for the great distance from home, we would love to visit more often.

What struck us most was the huge scale of everything, the rocks, the forests, the ravines, the whole landscape is just awesome, stupendous. The grandeur is almost indescribable
