We went up here for sunset. We stayed for about a half hour. It was absolutely stunning and so relaxing to see the colors change in the sky and the colors of the scenery change. Definitely recommend!

I would consider Glacier Point to be a "must do" if visiting Yosemite. The sun is best early in the day (we were there at 9AM or so) and before the crowds arrive and the parking lots fill up. We spent 30-40 minutes there but I'd think 90 minutes might be a better time commitment. There are short hiking trails and many spots to just sit and drink-in the marvelous views of Yosemite's mountains and the valley far below.

If one cannot climb the famed Half-Dome in Yosemite, then they ought to do the Glacier Point viewing area. This is a short walk from the car-park and gives amazing views of the Yosemite Valley, Half-Dome and Bridalveil Falls. It's just a photographer's delight. Would highly recommend this spot during sunset. Carry a jacket even in June as people from warmer climates not used to the cold can get a bit cold.

We drove up to Glacier Point in the morning. A bear crossed the road right in front of us, so be aware. The views from the top are awe-inspiring and fabulous. The clear day and blue skies added to the beauty. We took many photos. The view of Half Dome is wonderful. There is a gift shop at the top. You can buy a souvenir or an ice cream treat. I bought a coffee mug and some postcards. Restrooms are available at the top, but if you stop at the restrooms half-way up, there is no line! It is about an hourlong drive to Glacier Point, but well worth the time spent, especially if you are not hiking. Highly recommend!

Yosemite speaks for itself. It’s unlike any place on earth and jaw dropping. You can ride up to Glacier Point or hike up to it like we did on the Four Mile Trail. There’s a snack bar, gift shop, and restrooms at the top. It’s best to get there before 10:00 a.m. if you’re driving because the parking lot fills up quickly. There’s an easy paved walk once you get up there with spectacular views.
