“Go for the sunset”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2013

It's a long drive to the Point but worth it for the breath-taking view at sunset. It gets a little crowded and the drive back down in the dark is for the confident!

“The best views all round”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013

Not much more I can add to the many great reviews other than simply say, go do this and spend time at the top exploring the different views of the park before making the hike down to the bottom. This is a great way to spend at least half a day and a must do for any Yosemite visit.

“Very nice but overcrowded”

Awesome views of half dome and surroundings, but tourbus-overcrowded. Try hiking up there from the valley, very worthwhile!

“Stunning. Take the trail if you're up for it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

Even during a "busy" weekend, I still feel like I had breathing room at the top. Get there as early as humanly possible if you want to avoid the crowds. At 7:30AM, I was one of only about 10 people here. The down side is that the sunlight is MUCH better for pictures in the afternoon (I went back). I started at the top and walked down the Four Mile Trail to the valley floor. Wow. So quiet and peaceful, I had a smile on my face the whole day. It is 4.6 miles down, and 4.6 back, so don't be fooled in to thinking it is a 4 mile loop. I am in pretty good shape (used to running 10 miles no big deal), but still drank 100 ounces of water on the trail, and wish I had brought some food. Some people were not used to the exertion and struggling big time. Do whatever you can to go see this place. It is something I'll always remember. Bring a camera, but make sure you put it away some of the time and soak all of this in. 100% must see if you are anywhere within 200 miles of this place.

“Very good view point for star gazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2013

We manage to reach there at about 7plus in the evening. The sun was starting to set. There was a guide which we don't know when he is from. The sky was all orangey and blue, with the land consisting of grey and green. Such nice combinations of colour. We waited and enjoy how nature works.
We were both not very good with astronomy but when the stars are put, it was beautiful. Someone pointed out to us the milky way and we were able to catch it. A couple of shooting stars were spotted too.
