My wife and I had 3 nights at Yosemite Valley Lodge to explore Yosemite National Park and do some hiking. The best thing about the Lodge is that it is comfortable accommodation right in the heart of the National Park and close to all the amenities and hiking trails in the Park. The accommodation was perfectly satisfactory, though it is getting a bit tired and could do with refurbishment. It is quite expensive for the standard provided, but then the Park is quite remote and there are lots of services provided in the Park. We could not get the WiFi to connect in our room, but it worked fine (if slowly) in the common areas (eg the eatery). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hikes at Yosemite, and have no real complaints about the Lodge.

After the most appalling check in experience, when we cancelled our rooms on the spot, we were helped by a more helpful member of staff and decided to continue our stay.
Dirty rooms and communal areas - after being delayed being given our room key, due to deep cleaning (what a joke) we found badly stained carpet, previous occupants food under our fridge and litter and dirt to stairwell.
Pool was only open for 1 day out of our 4 day stay during the hottest part of the year ! When it was open it was only for 4 hours as pool staff (extremely rude and quite happy to argue with guests) had extended lunch.
You are better saving your money and staying outside the park and driving in. The place is a monopoly so accommodation and food expensive.
It is such a shame that such a stunning location is so badly represented and deserves better.

Loved being able to be in the center of all the activities and tours! We stayed in the Manzanita building and even though it had no air conditioning we were fairly comfortable. Parking was a bit challenging but in the evening we were able to move our car closer to our room! We took shuttles and tours and never needed to drive until we left!

We stayed at the Lodge for a week of hiking. The Lodge is close to lower Yosemite Falls. There is a shuttle bus that moves visitors around the valley for free. Stay away from holiday weekends as it gets very crowded. The room was quite comfortable. Just a tip though ... ask for quiet room or you may end up next to the refrigeration generator which goes on and off all night. There is plenty of good hikes. Believe it or not but you can get to the park by public transport using Amtrak and the YARTS bus which departs from Merced and Fresno. It was really easy which means less cars in the park.

After mixed reviews on here, I was a little worried about staying at this accommodation but I needn’t have been.

Yosemite Valley Lodge is located in the heart of Yosemite Valley and is perfect. You can walk all the way around the Valley (although it is quite the walk!) , catch shuttle and tour buses and are also close to the food court.

The rooms are very large with a fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and we had a lovely patio. The views from the rooms and the surrounding hotel are magnificent. We had the most amazing time here.

The only slight issue is parking. If you arrive in the middle of the day it can be tricky to find a space but in the evenings and early mornings, it’s not an issue. Free parking permits are provided.
