Stayed here during a wedding at the more pricey Awahnee. The Lodge is a bit old and pricey but clean and accommodating. Very relaxing to return to after late nights of wedding celebrations. The walls are rather thin but most guests seem to be respectful. The views are incredible.

We were close to great views and hikes, close to food, drink, and amazing sights, there were gift shops and museums to visit, what's not to like? Plus the bed was comfortable and the room was warm. We couldn't see much but the fence from our little patio, but this was a last minute booking helpfully made by the park reservation system when we couldn't get to the Wawona on account of snow. Next time we'll get the room with the view. I'm sure they have them.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor with a view, and book way ahead.

best location in yosemite valley. great view of falls!! we found the food court was a bit pricy and probably better to dine at mountain lounge. the breakfast menu was ok. from our room, we saw a group of dear in the morning!

Room Tip: near the falls

We have been coming to Yosemite for 60 years. While we use to stay in little cabins before the flood, we now stay for two weeks, typically in summer, at the lodge. The rooms are good size, nicely appointed, have patios or balconies and you are in the heart of the valley within walking distance from everything. Or if you prefer, grab the free shuttle bus. While we will also go in summer we were lucky enough to get a room at the last minute a couple weeks ago. The squirrels and coyotes were just coming to life, the falls were roaring, which we could see from our patio and half dome was also right there. Great for families, couples or groups.

Room Tip: We prefer the ground floor.

We have visited Yosemite many times and have enjoyed every single stay. It is my favorite place on earth! We hike, bicycle, shop, relax, walk and enjoy every single moment. I will continue to visit in every season, if possible.

Room Tip: make your reservations early!!
