“Convenient location and easy with kids ”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 via mobile

I've been visiting Yosemite for 30+ yrs. This was the first time we didn't camp, and that's bc we were on a road trip down the west coast with two young kids. The Lodge was conveniently located, comfortable, and offered good food options with the food court (cafeteria style, but actually quite decent!) and Mountain Room (steaks).

We rented bikes, hopped on the bus and took the valley floor tour all from the Lodge. The kids were happy, so this momma was happy.

Clean, convenient, friendly staff, gorgeous scenery.

Had a great time, rustic, close to everything. Comfy and nicer than I thought it would be, food is a little expensive, such an amazing park. Great tours, give yourself 3-4 hours to get out of the east exit. Tioga pass is intense, very winding.

I lucked out when this place became available. Be sure to check last minute as travelers tend to cancel one week before. The location could not be better and the rooms and service were nice. I recommend staying here for your next visit to yosemite.

We stayed at the Lodge ( 3 separate rooms for 5 adults) which has recently been remodeled. All the rooms are done in "Old Hickory" furniture that gives you that outdoor, mountain feel. The beds are super comfortable and the daily maid service was great. There is no need for air conditioning...granted it gets hot in the sun during the day but just find some shade and it will be ten degrees cooler. The evenings cool right down and every room comes with a ceiling fan that draws in enough cool air to be perfect. All of the workers at Yosemite, whether it is the front desk people, the shuttle drivers, the kid at the bike rental place, the maid, or the person at the Deli making sandwiches... they were all patient, friendly, and accommodating. I'm sure they get tired of all the "tourista's" but they never show it. Now for the hiking, biking, and rock climbing it is awesome and something the entire family should experience. Yosemite is a such a fantastic beautiful place to visit.....that's why we keep coming back year after year!
Some tips: Stop at a Trader Joe's and grab your bottles of wine there along with your snacks ( cheese, crackers, hummus, chips and dip and protein/ granola bars.... oh an apples too) before coming into the park It will save you a few buckaroos. Curry Village has affordable pizza for dinner and the Mountain Room has pretty good burgers ($17) I wish they would has sweet potato fries to go with it instead of plain old chips. The Awanhee has very reasonable breakfast, the Eggs Benedict are awesome and a couple dollars more than the omelet at the Lodge. You can't beat the dining room at the Awanhee either, just beautiful.
Enjoy your stay... I definitely recommend it! ... no matter what your accommodations....a tent, room at the Lodge or a suite at the Awanhee.... you will have a great vacation at Yosemite!

Room Tip: Every room is a great room whether you are looking at a rock wall face or looking at the woods with...

After trying many ways to book a room located in Yosemite, I was lucky enough to score by calling the National Park Service at Yosemite. The Lodge at the Falls was perfect. The only drawback was the lack of parking for those actually staying there, as the parking lot was shared by day visitors and guests as well. At the end of the day, there was plenty of spaces and we were able to move our car closer to our room. The room was appropriate for the setting. Clean, roomy, and built around the Falls. Views were gorgeous from every vantage point. We had dinner at the bar - great food at a reasonable price. The dining room was surprisingly pricey, so check out both menus before you decide. Breakfast was available at the food court, where healthy selections were available. Eat outside if you don't mind wildlife staring at you! After dinner, we took the free shuttle to the more expensive Ahwahnee Lodge for a nightcap. What a night! The Lodge at the Falls was the best place to stay at Yosemite. It was the starting point for many of the tours, and its location was an easy bike ride to so many other breathtaking sights! Bike rentals are available, as is a pool and many other activities for the guests. This was an experience not to be missed!

Room Tip: With selections so valued, I would stay anywhere room is available on site!

The location is stunning, and the lodge offers nice accommodations for a reasonable price. Be aware that there is no A/C, and it is hot in the summer. The pool is beautiful, and the lodge is in a great location for all amenities at the park.

Minor Inconvenience
Parking close to our building was hard to find if you came back late afternoon/evening time.

Ideas For Improvements
1. Extend tile from bathroom into sink and entry areas, or install wood or laminate flooring - easier to clean and maintain than carpet
2. Use wood or laminate flooring instead of carpet in the living/bedroom area - easier to clean and maintain.
3. Nice little coffee maker and supplies provided on tray on suitcase rack in closet, but no where convenient to set up and plug in.
4. A room safe would be nice.

Room Tip: Try to book one year in advance. If you can't find anything on the National Park's booking w...
