This was our very first time staying inside a national park. I debated on the price, but it was such a great stay, it was worth it. Yosemite is pretty big, so stayiing here will save time and stress. We spent two nights in Maple on the second floor (no elevator). Our lodge was across from the cafeteria, shops and lodge office. Our view from the balcony faced the woods, and at night you can really see stars. The room was clean, spacious, complete with the usual table, chairs, large screen TV, comfortable beds, nice bathroom and refrigerator. You will need your room key to get ice from the ice machine. The room was very dark in large part because of all the trees outside. The shuttles are convenient, especially from our location, though initially we were intimidated when we had to change shuttles to get to the Ahwahnee. We enjoyed eating an Easter brunch there, spectacular for the food and world class service. Dinner was nice at Mountain Room Lounge, where the pub has a nice intimate feel and is much kinder to the wallet. The cafeteria food is fine and pretty organized, especially for the crowds we saw coming in. We had a bed and breakfast deal, and because we ate breakfast at the Ahwahnee, we were able to use our breakfast tickets to buy lunch at the cafeteria the next day to take on a picnic. The cashier even let us know we had extra money and to get some more items. Free coffee was good too. Once outside our building you can see Lower Yosemite Falls and the trails to it are paved and very accessible. It was 24 years since we were last there, we'll make sure we visit again sooner.

My wife and I camped in Yosemite for New Years, and the nights were bitterly cold, so when we decided to shell out some cash for one night or warmth and a hot shower, the Lodge seemed like a really good deal - thus my score is possibly a bit higher than it should be. The lodge is interesting, its both amazing and disappointing at the same time. Its amazing that you can have decent accommodation at a decent price (cheapest hotel inside the park) in such an incredible location. The lodge has a lot of coo, albeit in need of updating, amenities like an outdoor pool, a cafeteria and best of all a pub! The pub unfortunately does not have a kitchen, so the food there comes out of a can - no burgers nor fries :(, but there is beer and a warm fire place. The staff at the lodge were super awesome, and the price we got for our room was very reasonable (although it was Jan 1st). If I was paying full price, and staying there for more than a couple nights, I would probably score it lower. My advice, if you dont want to camp, and need a hotel, look to Groveland or a vacation rental outside the park for cheaper, better accommodation. If your only in Yosemite for a day or two, then this is a great option to maximize your time in the park.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights between Mon 28th April & Thurs 1st May 2014 and truely had an outstanding time. We stayed in room Juniper 3330, which was very clean, spacious and more than met our needs for the type of stay Yosemite dictates, which relates to some of the reviews for this hotel. The service is a bit hit and miss, the food court is ok and served our needs, but our balcony for this room, had an excellent view of Yosemite Falls, we could just about see Half Dome through the trees and at the evening with the sun on it, wow, was beautiful and the same on the opposite side of the balcony for Sentinel Rock, just stunning. If it's 5 star service your after, you won't get it here, but if your going to Yosemite I suggest your going for the nature, views and beauty and you are in the best place here. While we were there it was 80 F, the sun shone and had the most amazing stay, most beautiful place in the world ?? Got to be up there... Enjoy

Room Tip: Juniper 3330 is a great room and best on this block, but make sure you get at least a 1st floor room...

My husband and I spent three nights here just last week. Based upon some of the reviews I have read, I was expecting an oppressive (no a/c) and primitive cabin-type room; the exterior of the several lodge buildings is drab brown.

However, after and quick, early and warm reception upon check-in (and free coffee cards for Peet's Coffee), we were thrilled when we walked in to an upper-level room that was actually a four-star quality newly refurbished hotel room.

Big-screen tv, great shower, comfy beds, including all of other little amenities that make for a great stay. Did I mention a nice, big, ceiling fan?

Everything was top-notch, and a perfect place to stay when in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

First, please understand that everything at Yosemite is a bit pricey. Given that, the Lodge Rooms were nice, and the location can't be beat-the restaurant and food court are on premise, the front desk is helpful, and the Falls can be seen from the driveway and probably some rooms, though not ours (We were in the Maple). No coffee pots in the rooms, though that is their next project. Small refrigerator ; no microwave. Our room had a balcony and a recently updated bathroom. Water temperature tended to fluctuate in the shower, but not drastically. The room had a king bed,a dresser and 2 large end tables and phone. You also got length of pillows, an extra blanket, a space heater (the room was heater fine without it), a floor fan (no ac) hair dryer, ironing board and iron, and WiFi. Shower and sink area had shampoo, conditioner and soap dispensers.
Parking can be a bit of a pain, just because there are so many people, and bus lading and unloading takes up many spaces during the day. Be careful where you walk/drive. Everyone is gawking at the scenery (you can't help it) and will walk out into the road to take a picture without looking.

Room Tip: Second floor is stairs only, but less noise from other guests

We stayed in Aspen Court whilst at the Falls and can not fault it.

The room is very rustic which really compliments the environment you are in and gives the impression you are in a little lodge. However you still have the luxuries of the huge TV and extremely comfortable bed! Very nice.

The location is absolutely ideal. We could hear the waterfall from our room - how amazing is that?

Breakfast at the food court was very good and there was lots of choice. I agree with other comments on here that all four tills should have been open instead of just one as waiting in line gives time for your yummy food to get cold. We overcame this by going for breakfast early (6.30/7am) when it was a lot quieter. We never had dinner in the court as we ate in the bar, and the food we had there was really good too.

We had a great stay here, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Yosemite is AMAZING!! :-)

This is one of my favorite hotels and the best you'll find in Yosemite. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and cozy, and the location cannot be topped. Yosemite Falls is within walking distance as is a small market and a few local eateries. The food court was alright, but got old quickly so we were thankful for a little variety in the area.
