“Yosemite summit duplex”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2011

Stayed in the upper unit of the Yosemite Summit house last month. Was a great deal for a 3 br, 2 ba. Think may have been last minute deal. Full price maybe not as good a value, but guess acceptable market rate. Was slightly concerned about reserving after reading some negative reviews, but think it's the condos that might not be that good. Guessing the houses are individually owned and Scenic Wonders manages. Anyhow, our stay was very comfortable and the space was spacious and clean. Located close enough to the valley, and thinking good choice if want to go to Badger Pass for winter activities. Only negative was that there was never anyone in the office when checked in or out. However, did arrive after 7pm and no trouble getting keys or dropping off.

Room Tip: Guessing upper unit better than lower.

We stayed for 4 nights in a Loft Condo (Building B) at Yosemite West. It wasn't terrible, but in hindsight I would not have booked it for so long. (NOTE: Be sure to read the reviews of Scenic Wonders carefully. Some are for the condos and others are for cabins/houses. From looking around the development and the TripAdvisor reviews, there is obviously a big difference in quality between the condos and some of the cabins).
We never saw or heard any staff members during the 4 night stay even though we were right next to the onsite office. This is nice from a privacy standpoint, but it would also be good to have access to the staff if you need something.
The condo was clean but dated and showing signs of years of use.
One of the oddest things is they had the nerve to leave a tip envelope even though there was no maid service during the stay and they would fine you if you didn't take the trash out and do the dishes before check out.
Travel time to the Visitor Center area in the Yosemite Valley is at least 30 minutes in light traffic.

Room Tip: Consider requesting an end unit. The walls are thin and any sound proofing is pretty minimal, so yo...

This review is really about Yosemite West condos but it is leased via Scenic Wonders. The pros: location. Only about 20 minutes from the valley. The road to glacier point is right around the corner. The location was the primary reason for our booking it.
Cons: The building looks like it was constructed out of the cheapest scrap material the builder could fine. Very tight spaces albeit it was just my wife and I. I cant imagine someone with a family in this space. No maid service during our stay but they left a tip envelope. And they will fine you for leaving trash and dirty dishes (maybe I should have left tip envelope). No AC so when its hot, you get a fan for cooling. For what you pay, the value is not there.

If you really want to stay in the valley and you have no other options, this will do but search for something else first.

Room Tip: Upstairs is probably quieter but they do have a no noise period which is nice.

Just returned from Yosemite, having stayed 5 nights in Christmas Cabin in Yosemite West.
It was such an excellent experience. The cabin was perfect for two couples , but would have slept more. it was clean and well managed and well stocked for our purposes. I would highly recommend this choice. We felt it was an economical choice and that it was a great value for the price. Scenic Wonders managed the rental and we were very satisfied.

We (four adults) stayed at the Yosemite Escape in early September 2011. The house was fantastic! New appliances in the kitchen, comfortable couches, and plenty of bedrooms.

The bedrooms are on the lower level (downstairs from the front entrance). Two have queen beds, while the third had a queen, a double (?) and a twin bed. There were two bathrooms on the lower floor and a half bath on the main floor.

The kitchen was fully equipped with dishes - the only thing we didn't find was a vegetable peeler. We didn't spend much time outdoors (it was pouring rain), but there is a small balcony on the back with a barbeque.

The house was clean and well-kept. The location was excellent - centrally located for the valley, Glacier Point, and the Mariposa Grove. We would love to return for another visit!

We are a large family who have traveled extensively and our stay with Scenic Wonders in Yosemite National Park was one of our very best vacations. My husband and I stayed in the fabulous combination Scenic Wonder / Little Scenic - 3 level “cabin” with it’s unparalleled view over a mountain valley.

We found ourselves in a magical spot where we were joined by our children and grandchildren and found a place to experience the kind of family bonding that can only take place along side our love for the wilderness with every convenience of home.

After a miraculous day experiencing Yosemite’s majesty - just right around the corner for our temporary “home,” we returned to a kitchen fitted with everything we needed for a wonderful meal and an oasis to rest before the adventures for the next day.

We had lots of corners for quiet retreat with a good book and lots of corners to “retreat” the kids to for not so quiet moments of play. But the real family magic happened with all generations in front of the soaring stone fireplace; a warm gathering spot in the brisk cool evenings of our early May visit.

It was a delightful surprise to find such a wonderful place to stay so very close to the awesomeness of Yosemite National Park! Magic!

Room Tip: The scenic wonder cabin can not be beat!

We stayed in Yosemite West area at a Scenic Wonders cabin (Eagles Nest-2nd floor). Wonderful, clean, spacious! Only thing missing was WiFi/shampoo/ blow dryer. Very quite, location. Wished we had 1 more night there! I think this was one of the newer cabins which I would highly recommend.
If being down in the valley is what you are looking for-this is about 45 min. drive. However, it is closer to Glacier point, and Wawona that any of the Valley hotels.
