The Porcelain Basin was the most unreal and impressive geothermal feature in the park in my opinion. The boardwalk is easy for anyone to travel on it and the grand scale of the area encompassed is beyond impressive. Felt like I was on mars or surface of the moon the whole time. Besides Grand Prismatic...this is a must see!!

“Pretty neat (found in Norris Geyser Basin)”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2011

This was a neat area, but not as good as Midway Geyser Basin or Old Faithful. It is a pretty level walk around a boardwalk at Norris Geyser Basin on the west side of the park. Interesting, unusual landscape, but you will see the same elsewhere. If you have time it's worth the stop doesn't take long to view the key points and its not terribly crowded. It is right near Steamboat Geyser (the tallest in the world, but only errupts 10' on a regular basis a big erruption is rare) and some of the other small geysers too. May be a few stairs but nothing bad at all. It is one of the attractions, you probably won't see much wildlife at the attraction other than squirrels, chipmunks, or some birds, but you never know I guess.

“OK stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2010

If you stop here, you will see most all the sulfur pots and small geysers you will need to see while at Yellowstone. They all look the same and the smell of sulfur is very strong. You need to see at least one of these areas while there, but there are several to choose from. This walk is an easy one.
