My husband and I ate in The Fountain while on a visit to Yellowstone last month. Yellowstone isn’t known for it’s fine dining and indeed some of the food we had was pretty poor, but the Fountain at Canyon Village is a good choice if you want a step up from the cafeteria and don’t want the expense of the main dining room.
The décor is ‘50’s Diner’ and you sit around a low counter. The menu is standard diner fare and isn’t terribley extensive, basically it is burgers, hot dogs and grilled sandwiches.
We had the nachos to start and they were very tasty. I had a grilled cheese sandwich, my husband had a burger. They were both hot, fresh and tasty. The service was pleasant and very fast. We found the service in the cafeteria to be pretty bad, so our friendly server was a nice change. They do not have an alcohol licence, so it is soft drink only.
Overall, we were pleased with our meal here, it’s not fine dining, but is a vast improvement on the cafeteria.
