“Nice location & hotel”

Nice lodge in the middle of Yellowstone National Park. Good location and services. The food in the restaurant was average. I tried the bull steak but was pretty disappointed. The rooms were clean and spacious. There is no wifi which makes you really feel in the wild.

In simple terms a small one room rustic cabin with a small separate bathroom. Fittings were bare minimums with running water, and toilet and shower. Bed was OK.

We suspected we were getting into barely adequate accommodation, which can only be described as a shock on arrival , but it did OK for our 2 nights here as we were driving around Yellowstone for most of the day. Also we came for the beauty of the Park , not for the 5 star accommodations.

The Lodge itself is traditional and historic and yes enjoyed a couple of the micro brews. Again seating at the lodge was in short supply as we assume people visited the lodge to socialise and more importantly to get out of the tiny Pioneer cabins.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Yellowstone, the accommodation was Ok and got us through. But if you are in any way choosey then look at alternatives as this was quite raw.

Lake Lodge is centrally located in Yellowstone National Park and the lodge is located across the road from Yellowstone Lake. The lodge had a small bar area, nice laundry room, large cafeteria, small gift shop, beautiful large rustic lobby area with couches and a fireplace, and a large covered front porch overlooking Yellowstone Lake. The cafeteria had a very nice view of the lake as well. Unfortunately, the food was expensive and not good. I am not at all picky about food but this was just terrible. We were put in a handicapped accessible Western cabin. I think it was more spacious because of this. The cabin was clean. I was able to get on the internet with my iphone in the cabin, which was a pleasant surprise. We saw several bison near the lodge and down by the lake. The lodge is very close to Hayden Valley which is one of the better wildlife viewing areas in the park. Aside from the bad food, overall I really enjoyed Lake Lodge.

We have a camp adjacent to the Allegheny National Forest in Northern Pennsylvania that my dad built back in the 1960s. It has running water, electric heat, a fireplace and a shower. That was about what we experienced in the Pioneer Cabins at Lake Lodge. We knew what we were getting into, for sure, and one can expect a little rustic in America's first National Park. But if you're a bit picky, pick elsewhere in the park. There were 2 forest fires on either side of the lodge area while we were there so the place was full of firefighters, but that was ok for the ladies. They really caused no problem except at mealtime and not for the majority of people as we were early risers still working on eastern time. Best part of the stay was the bar in the lodge with great microbrews, one of the best bartenders we've seen ANYWHERE, and the food in the cafeteria was above average for what it was. A nice central place to see the park if you don't have to detour around wildfires and fire apparatus.

We stayed two nights in a Pioneer Cabin at the Lake Lodge. This lodging is very nicely situated, on the lake and off the beaten track as the road is not a through-road. The cabins are up the hill behind the lodge and their exteriors had a 50s feel to them, but once inside, we found that they had been very nicely updated, new carpets, paint, mouldings and plumbing. Very nice! The only suggestion for improvement would be to plant some trees amongst the cabins as the grounds around them are rather barren. The lodge is very historic, but not overly grand with the right rustic touches. We found it not to be very busy, unlike Old Faithful. The dining room is cafeteria-style with items quite varied and reasonable. This was a very pleasant place to spend our last nights in the Park. We would definitely come back.

The lodge is in a beautiful location on Lake Yellowstone - from here you have easy access to great walking trails & wildlife viewing. It's only a short drive to the Canyon area.
We had an ensuite cabin - which was a reasonable size (for 2 dble beds), clean, comfortable beds. There is no fridge. The Lodge itself has most of the amenities you could ask for : self service laundry (coin operated), gift shop, vending machines, cafeteria. The cafeteria serves better food than you might expect - we definitely recommend dining here! (One of the few places where we found where you could get a side serve of vegetables.) There is a bar in the (magnificent) lobby - only open in the evenings and service can be slow as it gets very busy. Staff are friendly, helpful and cheerful.
Like everywhere in Yellowstone - wifi is only available with surcharge, but it works throughout the whole foyer area (which is huge) so you can surf the internet while you relax on the porch, stand in front of one of the open fires or enjoy a drink at the bar. The wifi isn't cheap but it does work, better value if you are staying several days.

We spent one night in a pioneer cabin at the Lake Village. It is obviously not one of the updated cabins. It was a very basic small cabin. The sink was in the bedroom with a tiny bathroom with a shower and toilet. The shower had decent pressure. There was no hair dryer or coffee maker. Paint was peeling a little in the bathroom. Trees block the view of the lake, but it is only a short walk away. The lake is beautiful.

In the main part of the lodge where you check in is a cafeteria. We had breakfast there. It was OK. There was a long line of people waiting for it to open so it took us a while to get in.

I would stay here again. When staying in this gorgeous park all that's needed is a place to sleep and the rates are less than the lodge itself.
