The road through the northeast part of the park ending in Cooke City and the Beartooth highway is very beautiful. The wide open valleys offer great wildlife viewing and plenty of hiking possibilities.
There were also many fly fisherman testing the waters of the Lamar river. We took a bunch of photos but unfortunately no up-close wildlife on our drive.

This one of the best places to see large wildlife. We were fortunate to see a bear and three cubs. Viewing across the valley is easy but it is a very popular place to visit. Places to park in the early morning and evening are limited due to the number of people. If you here local talk of a carcass being spotted then this is the place to be as bears and wolves may well visit this.Get there early to stake your claim, and make sure you have binoculars with you as animals can be distant from you.

We saw a sow grizzly and her 3 cubs. Bison everywhere. Pronghorn. A badger. Golden Eagle. Many other birds. Coyotes. Please do not bother the animals, they need their space.

Just incredible views, hundreds of bison, elk , pronghorn , picture book settings, less crowed than Hayden Valley, and some of the other areas of the park, lots of hikes of varying lengths to enjoy. A definite must if your in Yellowstone.

Spectacular valley views with many bison sightings. Great vistas that are worth the drive but many turnouts crowded
