Stayed 2 nights while exploring Yellowstone and I have to say the room was adequate for our requirements. It was clean and comfortable. Just a warning but no TV in rooms. It is set in a stunner no locations with lovely walks down to the lake.

Very blah with very little amenities. One gross thing happened. When we returned to the room after housekeeping, we found hair trimmings in our sink...small, black, curly, hair trimmings. You be the judge on what it was from.

Our advice for people traveling to Yellowstone: "Yellowstone is wonderful and beautiful and should be on everyone's bucket list, but unless you are camping, don't stay there." Grant Village Lodge, as well as Canyon Village lodge/cabins, is not only overly expensive, it is austere. No Internet, no phone, no TV, and no view. We enjoyed a very good dinner at the main restaurant at Grant Village, but other food areas are average at best. If we ever go back to Yellowstone, we will stay in West Yellowstone and Gardiner and just drive in to see the park.

Room tip: Our advice: Don't stay there.

Not sure what the standard rooms must be like, but the “Premium” rooms are several levels below Motel 6. They are small and showing lack of regular maintenance. There was a coffee maker in the room but no place to plug it in unless moved to the bathroom or bedside. The wi-fi router is at one end of the building and couldn’t reach our room - of course, the local staff couldn’t even tell us why it wasn’t working and took no action to fix it or even follow up (we finally tracked down an off site tech who diagnosed the problem). At least the two queen beds were decent. All of the park lodging seems to be managed by Xanterra and since they have no competition, there is little incentive for them to provide good service and rooms so you will probably experience problems with all. We liked the Canyon Lodge much more (at a much higher price point) but still had service problems.

Looking at the pictures here makes it seem like I was in a completely different place. Our room was very small, smaller than European hotels we've been in. That alone would have been fine, but the wireless was completely unusable on the first floor of the Coyote building. Of our two phones and two tablets, only one tablet would actually make a connection. It took forever to load one web page. That, coupled with the fact that there is literally no cell service inside the park meant we were cut off for our stay. Perhaps we should have relaxed and enjoyed being disconnected, but in this day and age it would have been nice to have a place we could go once a day to catch up. There is also no wireless in the restaurants.
