My family recently stayed here on a trip to Yellowstone. We were travelling by car and planning to enter the park from the south, so this was an ideal location for us.

The best attribute of this property is its location inside the park. The room was a comfortable (note - no TV or Internet) and very clean motor-lodge like room. The bathroom was very small - we only had a shower, no tub.

We paid around $175 for a "hi-range" room. If you encountered this room at a roadside motel along an interstate, it would go for at least $100 less, but like I said, location and time of year here is key.

Bottom line is that it beat having to drive out of the park for a one-night stay, plus the two nearby restaurants have good food and good views, so for us it was money well-spent.

After several wonderful days elsewhere in Yellowstone, we wanted to stay one more day, so took the only room available - at Grant Village. In hindsite, we should have kept going.

The building was built in the 80's and remodeled in 2004 - but you can't tell. The decor is still dated and the hallways dirty. The walls were thin enough to hear the tourbus party going on several doors down.

We ate at the Lake House - the pizza was adequate but the building had odd acoustics. Each time the pizza fan went on it shook the building, almost feeling like we were on a ship that was docking.

Construction was going on, and walking paths were blocked so we ended up taking long detours through bug infested woods. All in all, we would have been better to leave Yellowstone and skip this spot.

... is how they sell out these rooms. Midway between Old Faithful and Fish Bridge, so it is so much more convenient that staying outside the park. Newer than Old Faithful Lodge or Lake Yellowstone Hotel, but with none of their charm, either.

This is very basic for the price. No TV or phone, of course. We had a two double bed room and a one double bed room in the upgraded area (Tip: call and talk to the in-park agent; much better information than booking on-line.) The rooms were clean and the hallway carpet looked new - this was the beginning of the season. The mattresses were okay, not bad.

The bathrooms were tiny, with no place to put anything. That was also true of the smaller room - no place to put anything other than on the bed or small table. The walls are thin (one reason for no TV), with significant hallway noise.

Would recommend dining at the restaurant rather than the casual Lakeside venue.

i had read bad reviews of grant village so wasnt sure what to expect when i got there. i was relieved to see that it was a really excellent place. the staff were friendly, food in restaurant was delicious ( bison meatloaf ) and the room itself was clean and comfortable. it was a little strange to have to go to one area for check in, another short drive to the restaurant and another little drive to the cabin but it wasnt really a chore, just different.

The rooms were clean, bathroom was tiny. Screen was broken in the window so you could not open the window. The fan was ok but it did get a little warm. The down side of grant village is the breakfast and dinner. Tour bus passenger get first preferance.
If I do ever go back I will pay the extra money and stay at Old Faithful inn.

I stayed in june 2008 and would not recommend this place o anyone. The room was ok, bathroom was small. Shower was very small, Bed was very hard. you have 2 or 3 tour buses dropping people off ever nite around 5:30 pm making it impossible to get to dinner at 6:00pm. Do not stay here if at all !!!

We stayed here one night after several days in Teton Park. We had a very different experience that some of these recent reviews. Our room was clean and very comfortable. The decor is very dated, 70's style but not unpleasant. The bathroom was great, we had a huge bathtub. From our window we had a nice forest view and a little peek of Lake Yellowstone. The little restaurant on the lake had gorgeous views and was very reasonably priced. The food was mediocre but plentiful and great after a long day of hiking and sightseeing.
