Well situated in the centre of Yellowstone National Park and in pleasant surroundings next to Lake Yellowstone so convenient for exploring the Park. The lodge is made up of 6 chalet-style blocks (A-F) each containing 50 rooms arranged on 2 storeys. The blocks are well spaced out and surrounded by trees. There's also adequate car parking space alongside each block. Accommodation is fairly basic, though it's peaceful and comfortable. As stated elsewhere there's no TV and no free WiFi but the surroundings more than make up for that.

The eating options are the cafeteria-style Lake House and a more formal restaurant which are on separate sites some distance from the accommodation blocks. I only used the Lake House, which is very pleasantly situated overlooking the lake. It's signposted and is a fairly easy walk to get there but it involves steps and I would recommend finding your way around in daylight as all the blocks look the same and there's very little lighting, so a torch might be useful at night. There's an emphasis on eco-friendliness throughout the site. I believe advance bookings are necessary if you want to use the restaurant. The menu choice at the Lake House was quite limited (including bison burger and fish and chips) and service was slow. Last orders for evening meals are at 8pm. Breakfast starts at 7am. The doors to the building weren't opened until then by which time a queue had formed outside. It wasn't clear what options were available for breakfast but it was necessary to pay at the counter before proceeding to the buffet area, which led to some confusion and delay.

It's at altitude and the temperature drops considerably overnight so be prepared for cold mornings in summer. There isn't much option for buying provisions on site but there are adequate facilities at the main Park sites such as Old Faithful.

Let's face it your are paying for the location. There is no view to speak of out your window or from any location. The staff is friendly and cheerful. The rooms are like bare college dorm rooms. There is no TV and if you want WIFI you must pay. Don't bother taking leftovers from the restaurants because there is no fridge or microwave in the room or common area. I understand not having in the room, but come on at least have a micro in the common area for people!

I did not like our stay here. I was up all night because the pillows were horrible as well as the sheets. Very cheap quality. The bathroom was so small that I could not close the door. Very dirty feel and reminded me of a dorm room.

We were traveling on motorcycle through the Park- Grant Village was a great lodging choice!
There was plenty of parking right outside our main floor room; and restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were simple, clean and comfortable. Love how Eco friendly the facilities are.

Room Tip: Book early, and make dining reservations in the Part as much as possible

If you want to stay inside Yellowstone NP, there is a limited number of choices - if you book well in advance. But when we tried to book a couple of months before our visit in July, everything seemed sold out. However, a Turkish(!) travel bureau could offer a room in Grant Village - so that is where we ended up.
The choice was not bad (but of couse we do not know how it compares to the other lodgings inside Yellowstone NP).
We had a nice room. Not too modern, but large and comfortable. And quiet in the night - we slept with an open window.
The breakfast was not included but could be bought at a restaurant overlooking Yellowstone Lake.
The only drawback was the price. It was pretty expensive, especially considering that breakfast was not included. Oh yes, and the internet was also to be paid for.

We stayed 2 nights at Grant Village after moving on from Mammouth Springs Hotel. We had a large room in Block C which had 2 large beds , clean bathroom and coffee facilities in the room which was a bonus.
Reception staff were very friendly and Restaurant meals were very good - though it was a little warm in there for our 2 nights. We ventured down to the Lakeside Restaurant for breakfast but found they only did an all-in-buffet there so went back to the main restaurant for a smaller meal. Shame as the views down there were lovely.
No complaints at all - not a 5 star hotel but then we weren't expecting that. Very comfortable and clean.

Room Tip: Can only speak for Block C but there was a notice to say there were refurbishing rooms - our s was f...

By far our worse stay in quite some time. No Air conditioning and the fan didn't work. $12.00 for Wi-Fi. Hair in the bathroom. Debris under the bed. Check-in friendly. Staff cheerfully found us a working fan. Noise outside with window open.

Room Tip: Consider another facility
